8/11/2019 New SID Checklist
1/19
The purpose of this checklist is to insure that equipment is designed and constructed in accordancewith Chevrons Safety-In-Design Manual SID!" as well as other applica#le Company $ industrystandards and pu#lications%
This checklist can #e used during any design review and&or prior to startup" and is required for all newconstruction and for modifications which could impact the safe operation of the facility% The SID'eview should #e conducted #y a (ro)ect Team and *+S +ngineer" with the help of a facility
representative% It can also #e conducted #y the Construction representative for field modifications andinspections
The intent is to inspect and review design" installation $ placement of loss prevention equipment, walking and working surfaces, noise levels" lighting and other ergonomic considerations%
In some cases" it may not #e feasi#le to upgrade eisting construction to fully conform to applica#lestandards% In this situation the reviewer should determine whether the structure or equipment issuita#le for use as-is" and whether the intent when constructed was to provide a safe workingenvironment% If these conditions are satisfied" minor discrepancies and pro#lems should #e noted inthe .Comments. column with recommended future action" and the reviewer may sign off on the review%'eview items that do not apply to a particular facility should #e crossed off% If there is any question
regarding the accepta#ility of the design or construction" consult with an appropriate +TC /oss(revention engineer for acceptance requirements%
