PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Member

I would like to thank all of you for being supportive and helping in nurturing TiE Rajasthan Chapter. The constant feedback, active response and participation have enhanced the faith, growth and trust on TiE Rajasthan.

With availability of our experienced entrepreneurs TiE Rajasthan launched 'WE elevate' - an accelerator programme for early stage women led – start ups of Rajasthan in association with AIC Banasthali Vidyapith.

Also, this quarter we accelerated our TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) programme with three successful sessions which provides sector and skill specific mentoring to youth.

Our vision is to serve and empower all the members in the best possible ways and our mission is to create a powerful impact on the substantial growth of Startups in the state.

I am pleased to present this edition of 'ConnecTiE' – The Quarterly Newsletter of TiE Rajasthan summarizing all major initiatives, plans and upcoming events.

TiE Members and HR Heads of TiE Member organisations learned the best HR practices in an extremely engaging session. Few takeaways are -

Utilize the power of social media for talent acquisition.

A simple, transparent and welcoming Employee On-Boarding Process will help decrease the attrition rate in long run.

Include 3 R's of Employee Retention & Satisfaction RESPECT - RECOGNITION-REWARD in your HR Strategy.

Pay attention to simple things that effect your employees the most. It's a non expensive but effective way to increase productivity.

Continuously monitor, measure and update job description and performance indicators for each function.

Involve process managers as an integral part of performance appraisal team

TiE Rajasthan endorsed & supported the youth summit 'ChaT', which is a 2-Day Edutainment conference aimed at: Transforming the way youth thinks and acts.

TiE PROGRAMMES

TiE has a global mandate to empower women entrepreneurs and to support this, an initiative WE elevate has been launched in a strategic partnership with AIC Banasthali Vidyapith.WE elevate is a 6 month accelerator programme which will help aspiring women entrepreneurs by giving them the best leap in their entrepreneurial journey. TiE Mentors will provide handholding support to these startups through structured sessions and Shadow Mentoring.

Applications from various women led startups were received and our members Puneet Mittal, Piyush Poddar along with Abhishek Pareek from AIC Banasthali shortlisted startups from various sectors such as ecommecre, education, textiles and many more. Going ahead various workshops and contact sessions have also been planned for these startups.

WE elevate

100+ students from city based schools have enrolled themselves for the TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) and TiENxt. The students are undergoing Masterclass Programme led by Chirag Patel, President, TiE Rajasthan wherein they are learning the basics to build a startup. These Master classes are helping students to think innovatively and develop their business plans.

Prior to this, recent winners of TYE global competitions (Team Jhutpat & Team Phoolvari) were invited from New Delhi at the Icebreaker Session to present the TYE concept, their TYE experiences and most importantly their own TYE winning formula.

TiE Global Initiatives

TiE Global has launched a pan-India angel network of TiE - TiE India Angels (TIA) on 15th August 2019. Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Vice-Chair of TiE Global Board and Past President, TiE Rajasthan is leading this initiative. TIA aims to strengthen chapters commitment to early-stage and idea-stage startups. TiE India Angels is launched with an idea to mentor, nurture and fund startups engaged with TiE chapters.

TiE COLLABORATELaunch of TiE Task Forces which will help in organizing ourselves to identify industries of the future relevant to Rajasthan and create permanent indelible impact on startup ecosystem in the state.

There are 3 CLUSTERS for TiE Taskforces:

Chirag Patel was invited for an interaction with Charter Member of the newly launched TiE Surat Chapter. He shared his personal and professional experiences that were very well received and much appreciated by the members.

TiE Surat is a new Chapter but one can find numerous similarities between the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Surat and Jaipur. Such cross chapter interactions will help stimulate innovative ideas and learn from other chapters.
