The second generation Tiguan is made for wherever life may take you. From the eye-catching design and exceptional versatility to the assurance that it can take everything your lifestyle demands.
The New Tiguan.
At first glance, the New Tiguan makes a powerful statement. Unique and bold character lines accent the vehicle, creating a seamless feel that reflects its masculinity. Longer, wider and lower, the New Tiguan’s striking SUV design is sportier and more powerful-looking with sharp lines and flared wheel arches. Body-coloured bumpers, door handles and exterior mirrors fuse effortlessly and all models have a black grain-effect protective trim on the lower front and rear bumpers, side sills and wheel arches.
The Tiguan’s body contours integrate smoothly thanks to laser seam welding, with the elegant bonnet and front, which features a distinctive radiator grille and striking horizontal chrome bars that proudly lead to the iconic Volkswagen badge. Chrome finishes can be added in the optional Chrome and Shine Package. Keeping the Tiguan firmly on road and off-road are alloy wheels that come standard across the range. The Trendline features 17” Montana alloys, while the Comfortline receives 17” Tulsa alloys and the Highline sports standard 18” Kingston alloys.
Lighting the way are stylish LED headlights with daytime driving lights (optional excluding Trendline). Efficient and powerful, they complement the front fog lights with static cornering lights.
Turning gears, wheels and heads.
Luxury and practicality come standard.
The New Tiguan’s premium design is more spacious than the previous generation. Longer and wider with 615 litres of boot space (1,655 with folded seats); every bit of room has been optimised. Inside the Tiguan it’s easy to see that it is not just off-road confidence; it is a model of contemporary urban refinement, classy and sophisticated enough for city driving and relaxed highway cruising.
Exceptional comfort levels combine with cleverly thought-out design to create a cabin that’s comfortable, responsive and functional. The Tiguan’s three-spoke leather-covered steering wheel is supremely ergonomic, while fantastic seat configurations allow you to concentrate on driving, even on long-haul trips. Interior touches with more storage space, drawers under seats (drawers under driver’s seat will be forfeited with leather seats), electrically foldable side mirrors, cruise control, comfort seats, auto headlights and rain sensors mean the New Tiguan ticks every box.
Elsewhere in the cabin, clever design and functionality go hand in hand. Sliding rear seats with a 40/60 split fold offer versatility for passengers and payload luggage. For ultimate carrying capacity, both rear seats can be folded flat to reveal space just right for carrying bulky cargo. The Tiguan even features load-through provision for the rear central armrest, making it a breeze to accommodate longer items such as fishing rods or hockey sticks while maintaining two rear outer seating positions.

On and off the road, no stone is left unturned. With its optional 4MOTION® Active Control, the Tiguan can be adjusted to different road conditions and terrain. The design also visually emphasises its off-road character. Power is part of every detail. All you have to do is buckle up for daily adventures.
State-of-the-art technology.
When it comes to innovation and technology the New Tiguan has left no stone unturned. Keyless entry and an electric tailgate make loading and driving seamless and effortless.
Parking has never been easier. Park Pilot activates when the car is in reverse and uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor directly in front and behind the vehicle. It offers guidelines on the camera screen and also warnings to the driver when the car is getting close to another object.
Tailor-make any journey. Driver Profile Selection enables different settings that will change both the Tiguan’s performance and the driver’s experience – all at the turn of a dial. Quickly and easily select one of the five driving modes and change between normal, comfortable, sporty, individual or eco mode.
Infotainment packages.
Central to driver and passenger enjoyment is the Volkswagen “Composition Media” infotainment system (standard on Highline). Featuring an 8” high-resolution display, USB interface for iPod/iPhone, Bluetooth, SD Card, and MP3 compatibility, the infotainment system offers a practical, personalised and versatile user experience – perfect for cross-country road trips or round the corner school runs.
The “Discover Pro” infotainment system pushes the envelope with a 9.2” touchscreen premium satellite navigation with DVD drive, Gesture Control, Bluetooth and USB interface for iPod/iPhone.
App-Connect links compatible smartphones to use selected apps on the touchscreen display of your Volkswagen, from streaming music to navigation using mobile maps.
Active Info Display turns your dashboard into an interactive experience. The Active Info screen allows you to customise the display from infotainment to navigation or driver assistance systems.
Safety first. Safety always.
The New Tiguan isn’t just eye catching; precision German engineering makes this one of the safest SUVs in its class. The safety cage has been designed to protect during front, rear, or side impacts. In addition, advanced thermoformed steel B-pillars offer strong reinforcements on top. The adaptive airbags have been engineered to adjust to crash severity and special door sensors will deploy Curtain Protection® airbags in the event of a side impact.
The Head-up Display allows you to keep your eyes on the road by projecting relevant trip data conveniently in the driver’s field of vision. Speed, traffic signs, assistance systems and other functions are displayed clearly and accurately.
A ground-breaking feature designed to keep the driver alert during long trips, the Rest Assist Fatigue Detection System senses fading concentration levels by intelligently measuring pedal and steering-wheel use. It warns when a break is needed via an acoustic signal and a visual message displayed on the instrument cluster – just another example of what makes the Tiguan the most innovative and intelligent vehicle.
Cruise control also had an upgrade. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) can be added to the Tiguan as another innovative piece of technology. When ACC is activated, the vehicle automatically brakes and accelerates in a speed range set by the driver. If another vehicle approaches, the ACC brakes the car to the same speed and maintains the pre-selected distance.
Constant 4MOTION® moving forward.
The New Tiguan does all the thinking and calculations in split seconds. 4MOTION® actively secures vehicles by working in conjunction with the other operational safety systems to constantly monitor driving conditions. Upon detection of even the most minimal wheel slip, the power is automatically adjusted and deployed to the necessary wheel in a matter of milliseconds.
4MOTION® is Volkswagen’s registered trademark for permanent four-wheel drive, Hill Descent Control and torque distribution to all four wheels means safety comes first on and off the road.
Automatic Profile.All systems run on automatic; No changes to car system characteristic mapping.
Snow.Systems are configured for slippery road surfaces (snow, ice). Four-wheel drive responds more quickly. Flat accelerator line.
Off-road driving profile.Four-wheel drive is active, systems are configured for uneven road surfaces and poor traction, hill descent assist and ABS+ are activated (further driving profiles such as ECO, Sport, Comfort are not possible).
Off-road driving profile (individual).Hill descent assist, audio warnings and lights can be deactivated.

The New Tiguan range features high standard equipment levels of course, but there are a myriad of small touches with the R-Line Package (Comfortline and Highline only), like the sporty body-coloured rear spoiler, bumper and sill extension in ‘R’ styling, that put it firmly at the top of the pile.
The entire look is perfected with 19” Sebring alloys on the Comfortline and 20” Suzuka alloys on the Highline.
