GENERAL INFORMATION

All ATA rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. Shoot management insists on safe gun handling at all times. No closed actions are allowed except in the gun rack or on the firing line. Violators subject themselves to immediate disqualification, without recourse and dismissal from the grounds. NYS Law requires Sub-Junior shooters to be a minimum of 12 years old.

Banks will be rotated each day. There will be a drawing made by the management at the classification office around 4:00pm in view of shooters for bank assignments for each day. These bank assignments will be posted the night before at the club houses and around the trap line. If you sign up after the bank assignments have been posted, you must take a position on the first available squad. There will be no exception to this rule. There will be a $10.00 resquadding fee for all who resquad after the bank assignments have been posted for the day.

Targets shall be reset only after a member of the shoot committee or the target setting committee has come to the trap to review the targets.

The management reserves the right to reject any entry and/or to change the program or plan of shooting in case weather, attendance, or other factors make it advisable.

The only checks that will be accepted are U.S. checks made payable to the New York State ATA for the exact amount of your entry.

Shooters must check in with squad hustlers prior to shooting. Missed Squad Penalty: Any shooter missing his/her squad and desiring to re-enter the event shall pay a $10.00 penalty. Make-ups: A maximum of 50 targets can be made up per event. If you miss your squad for more than 50 targets, you must be re-squadded. Shooter must come to the information window to get make-up sheets. Then proceed to the make-up area as directed.

No shooter will be called to the line. The squad will start after waiting one minute. It is the shooter’s responsibility to check the bulletin board to make sure that his or her category, money options, scores and totals are posted correctly before leaving the grounds. Also, he/she is responsible for the posting of his/her sub-event scores, for accuracy in amount and sequence. It is the shooter’s responsibility to notify the cashier at once in the event of error. Once the options are figured there will be no changes unless the cashier has made the error. Shoot-offs: Twenty-five targets for singles and ten pair for doubles. A contestants failure to report after 1st, 2nd and 3rd call forfeits all rights to their respective shoot-off.

Squadding: Entries for all events will open at 8:00 AM Tuesday July 6th. Once an entry is paid for, there will be no changes or refunds allowed. (Wheelchair bank accessible for presquadding.)

All singles events will be 50 targets per trap, two traps per bank. Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 banks will be used. Thursday thru Sunday all 12 banks will be used. All doubles events will be shot 100 targets per trap. Each trap represents a bank. Tuesday thru Sunday 16 banks will be used. Trap banks will be numbered from east to west. We will have 3 traps setup for practice and make up shoots during the shoot. Banks to be adjusted as necessary by shoot management.

Nominations for ATA Delegate and Alternates will be made in writing. The nominations must be signed by two (2) ATA members and include their ATA membership numbers and club affiliation, if any. Nominations will be accepted at a table near the trophy display between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 9th.

In order to vote you must present your ATA Current Average Card, sign a registration book and record your ATA membership number beside your name. Voting will take place from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM. The State meeting will be held at 12:00 Noon - sharp.

Shooters who shoot preliminary events in penalty class or penalty yardage, and then meet the target requirements stated during the shoot, may re-classify.

Squadding & Cashiering

1. Your plastic ATA card will be used for classification, squadding and cashiering. Please have it available each time you approach a window. 2. Your entry receipt printed at Classification window will display your ATA number

and classifications as well as any special declared category. You can review the options on your printed receipt for all events of the tournament prior to your option selection at the cashier’s window.

3. At classification any Sub-Junior or Junior must declare if they choose to enter the tournament at one half target fee or full target fee. A Sub-Junior or Junior who selects to participate in any purse or other option will be charged full target price. Once an entry is made for either one half price targets or full price targets, it will not be changed.

4. Squadding and Cashiering windows will open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8AM and at 7:30 am on Friday and Saturday. Cashiering windows will close at 4 pm daily, except Sunday when it will close at 3pm.

5. On Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday one squadding window will be dedicated for a period of time for that days entries. That squadding window will be clearly identified and will remain open for 2 hours after the above posted opening times of the squadding and cashiering windows. This will facilitate those shooters only squadding for that day. After 2 hours or a time suggested by shoot management that window will then return to squadding all shooters in all events as the other squadding windows.

6. NYSATA uses a Lottery System for drawing starting banks daily. All entries at the squadding windows will be done on a first come first served basis of individuals and squads in order to fill squad positions. Wheelchair banks will be assigned by the Classification Committee.

7. Handicap squadding will be per ATA rules, 3 yard difference on a squad, and 2 yard difference between shooters.

8. If you saved a position or do not plan on using a position that you have pre-squadded or pulled, it will be your responsibility to inform the squadding personnel of your intention of not using that or those positions. The office can be reached at (315) 699-2181. At the beginning of each event any un-paid positions will be released to other shooters.

9. Cashiers will accept only US checks for the amount of shooting fees only. All entries will be made with U.S. funds only.

10. Your receipt from cashiering will display all your classification and squadding information, all daily target fees paid and all options selected and paid for.

11. Payoff checks will be printed at the conclusion of the day and will include all payoffs for that day’s event. The payoff checks will be available each day from 11 AM until 4 PM with the exception of Sunday until 3 PM. On Sunday after the last event is complete and payoffs posted, the Cashiering window will re-open and payoff checks will be available for those wishing to take them.

12. No entries will be changed or refunded unless shoot is cancelled. 13. Option payoffs become final after scores have been posted for 2 hours.

PRACTICE FIELD

Three practice traps at the east end will be staffed during each shoot. Practice will start one hour before the first event of the day and close with the end of shoot-offs. $4.50 per 25 targets singles and handicaps and 12 pair doubles.

SHELL HOUSE

The Shell house will be staffed one hour prior to the first event each day and close at the conclusion of shoot-offs each day. Popular brands of ammunition will be maintained.

CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE NEW YORK STATE HOME GROUNDS

FOR 2009

We, the Officers and Directors of the New York State Amateur Trapshooting Association, want to thank all of the people who attended the Empire Grand, NYS Shoot and Northeastern Grand and especially those who donated labor, equipment, cash and materials.

We also would like to extend a special thanks to Wayne & Joyce Morris for their help in classifications and shoot offs. They were a great help for all three shoots at the home grounds. Larry and Joann Grenevicki did a great job and were a great help with making NYSATA a shooter friendly organization.

With extraordinary conditions and circumstances, we were able to complete all shoots because of your help. There are far too many to name individually with the possibility of missing someone.

A sincere thanks .........

As a sportsman, you owe it to yourself to protect your eyes every time you shoot. Consider the effect on your life if your vision were impaired. We are not aware of any exceptions to the course management rule that makes eye protection mandatory. HAROLD W. MORGAN, owner of Morgan Optical Sport Glasses, has been practicing in the optical field for over 45 years. His expertise in the knowledge of optics, colors, lenses, (prescription and non prescription), has subsequently led to consulting and advising a variety of shooting enthusiasts , trap, skeet, sporting clays, hunting, pistol, rifle, and cowboy action shooting. Harold knows from personal experience that eye-wear can improve your overall shooting performance. We invite you to explore the sites of colored lenses and the performance they deliver. You finally have the ability to offer yourself the most desirable lens attributes for all shooting needs, without compromising optical performance!

GENERAL INFORMATION

This program, as printed, represents the Official Zone Program for each zone. The trophies and options shown are identical for each zone. While it is permissible for the Host Club, at their discretion, to add additional special registered events during the Zone Shoots, the New York State Amateur Trap Association will only sponsor events printed in this program.

Trophies: No shooter may win more than one trophy in any one event in his or her zone. However, it is possible to win a championship and an individual zone trophy. All trophies are NYS Resident trophies. All popular makes of shells will be available. We would appreciate the purchase of your shells from the club. No other vendor shall sell shells on the grounds.

It is the shooter’s responsibility to check the bulletin board to make sure that their money options, scores and totals are posted correctly before leaving the grounds. Shooters are also responsible for the posting of their sub-event scores for accuracy in amount and sequence. Further, it is their responsibility to notify the scoreboard personnel immediately, in the event of error. Once the money options are figured, there will not be any changes – unless the cashier has made an error in figuring.

It is the responsibility of Ladies, Juniors and Veterans to see that they are so indicated on their entry card and on the bulletin sheets.

All ties will be shot off each day, if possible. Twenty-five targets for singles and ten pair for doubles. Any contestant leaving the grounds before a shoot-off forfeits all rights to same.

REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE

This certifies that the New York State Amateur Trapshooting Association, Inc. has been authorized to hold registered shoots per the above dates and clubs respectively. The Amateur Trapshooting Association Rules will govern the shoots and the scores will be included in the Official Records.

PRE-SQUADDING INSTRUCTIONS

Pre-squadding requests for all NYSATA Shooting Tournaments will be posted on PreSquad.com

Empire Grand deadline is May 4th. State Shoot deadline is June 21st. Northeast Grand deadline is August 30th. The non-refundable service charge of $2.00 per position, per event, must be included with each request form. Multiply the number of positions selected by $2.00. Starting this year there will be no entry cards issued. Anytime after 8:00 am Monday morning, you may pick up a receipt showing your squads and positions for the shoot. A shooter may only draw one position per event. Any shooters wishing to squad together must fill out only one application indicating the shooter’s full name, ATA number and handicap yardage on the line indicating the position that shooter wishes to reserve. Please use duplicate forms if you are squadding different shooters for some events (e.g. if you are shooting with one group for singles and other shooters for handicap, use one form for singles and another for handicap.) Chair shooters should identify with a note attached to the form indicating name, ATA number and position(s) requested for the chair shooter(s). Applications for full or partial squads that do not have the required information will not be processed. A shooter wishing to switch positions with another shooter must have both ATA numbers and present them to a point of sale cashier. SHOOTERS DESIRING TO CHANGE SQUADS AND/OR POSITIONS IN AN EVENT MUST RELINQUISH THE POSITION THEY ARE HOLDING BEFORE BEING ELIGIBLE TO REQUEST A NEW POSITION. Please make sure you are using the correct form for the shoot you are requesting. All applications should include the proper form(s) and a check in the appropriate amount made payable to NYSATA. Send completed forms along with your check payable to NYSATA (in U.S. Funds to):
