Uber at the crossroads
For hardly any other company the motto "Reconquer!" fits better than for Uber. On the backof its rapid international expansion, the US-based start-up company had antagonized thetaxi industry in particular. In addition, there were allegations of sexism and discrimination inthe company, which forced Uber- founder Travis Kalanick to resign. The new boss, DaraKhosrowshahi, is to improve the tarnished reputation of Uber. On the afternoon of thesecond day of the conference, the Uber-CEO will explain on the DLD stage how he wantsto achieve this and what changes he is striving for.
Reconquer Europe!
The discussion about Europe as a sustainable community with an enduring presence in theglobal and digital world will play a central role at DLD Munich. What cyber dangers arethreatening us? Is there an end to the private sphere, because everything is hackable?What new legal framework conditions are urgently needed? Among others, the new EUDigital Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, Wolfgang Ischinger, President of the Munich SecurityConference, Arne Schönbohm, President of the Federal Office for Information Security andDmitri Alperovitch, CTO of the cybersecurity company Crowdstrike will address thesetopics.
Future of mobility
When autonomous driving has found its way into reality and the dream of a flying taxi iscoming closer and closer, we are confronted with the future of mobility. Germany'spioneering role in this area will be demonstrated on the DLD stage by Flixbus CEO AndréSchwämmlein, Christoph Grote from BMW as well as Daniel Wiegand and Florian Reuter,CEOs of the aviation startups Lilium Aviation and Volocopter.
German Unicorns and influential investors
Robert Genz (Zalando), Niklas Östberg (Delivery Hero) and Christopher Muhr (Auto1) willdemonstrate how a start-up can turn into a German Unicorn on the second day of theconference at DLD Munich. Also influential investors such as Albert Wenger (Union SquareAdventures), Marc Samwer (GFC Global Founders Capital), Klaus Hommels (Lakestar) andFrank Thelen (Freigeist Capital) will be on the DLD stage.

Women's power will be represented on the DLD stage when renowned journalist KaraSwisher (Recode) will be talking to Megan Murphy (Bloomberg Businessweek) and HilaryRosen (SKDKnickerbocker). They will discuss the #metoo movement, which waspromoted by actress Rose McGowan, herself a victim of Harvey Weinstein and also aspeaker at DLD Munich.
