Second Sunday 4pmEmbodying the Eucharist,(11/14-Burns Hall)The word Eucharist means “thanksgiving.” We come together each week to pray, eat, and give thanks for all that God has given us. Join us for an informal Eucharist service. Afterwards we will embody the Eucharist as we prepare meals, bless them, and give them to those whom we are most thankful for. Information? Contact Michael Palmisano or Tory Dunkle.

Adult ForumsOctober 31 - Redeemer Youth Group (RYG), Mission & Work TripOur Redeemer youth saw the unique circumstances of the pandemic present an opportunity to make Philadelphia the destination for this past summer’s Work Trip. Over the course of the week-long immersion, our youth spent time with partner non-profit organizations and faith-based communities: Aquinas Center, Rise Against Hunger, and the Philadelphia Project. Please join us during this week’s adult forum as our group shares the impact of these organizations, people, and communities upon the lives of those they serve and upon their own lives. Our presenters will also share their vision for future relationships with these groups and future iterations of the Work Trip.November 7 - Bill Golderer, CEO, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New JerseyMore information on this series of Forums at www.TheRedeemer.org/adult_formation

Episcopal Church ClubThe Episcopal Church Club of Philadelphia (ECCP) is welcoming new members to restore its membership rolls and services to the Diocese of PA in the wake of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Over the past two years, online Zoom presentations by speakers have replaced luncheons and speakers at the Acorn Club. The 2021–2022 Church Club calendar year will continue to provide scheduled monthly (approx.) presentations by speakers sharing an awareness of religious, civic and national concerns. Members will also have access to archived presentations via the Church Club website. An annual individual membership is $25 and is accessed on the Church Club Website at www.episcopalchurchclub.org. DID YOU KNOW

Did you know Annual Stewardship enables the Children’s Ministries programs to cover more than just the Church School? The Sunday morning programming uses a large portion of their budget to ensure we have Nursery caregivers, curriculum, and supplies needed for each week. Children’s ministries also budgets for our most memorable programs such as the Church School pageant, the Christmas Eve pageant and the

Easter Egg Hunt. The funds provide gift books to the newly baptized and personalized bibles to the rising 6th graders. A new expense this year is the Second Sunday 4pm service. Just as our Children’s Ministries programs reach beyond Sunday morning, Stewardship enables these programs to touch generations of Redeemer families.

. . . Now that’s Ministry and your Stewardship makes it happen!

Count Down Time! Here is How YOU Can Help• Calling all bakers! If you are interested in helping bake and package delectable treats for this year’s Christmas Village, including sweets, cookies, pastries and boxed gift packages, please contact Kate Chojnacki at [email protected].• Silent auction donations needed! OK, you fabulous chefs out there - would you donate prepared meals, desserts, soups or stews? Can you offer or provide a gift certificate for an experience (e.g., a chocolate- or wine-tasting event, visit to a llama farm, trip to Treetop Quest Philly, etc.)? We are also on the lookout for exquisite estate wines, restaurant gift certificates, knock-out vintage jewelry, small specialty items, services such as weeding, planting, tech help, and the list goes on…• Trinkets and Jewels! We want your sparkle and dazzle gemstones, and shimmering jewels – any donated treasures, including watches, brooches, evening handbags, cuffs and vintage bracelets, even vanity trays.• Hats Off to You, Gentlemen! And, yes, you’re included in donating your Stetsons, cufflinks, pocket watches, tie bars, bow ties, driving gloves and mufflers, and canes.• Let’s Decorate and Turn On the Heat! We need artificial or real wreaths and garlands, fairy lights, Solo Stoves (with a tender and firewood), heat lamps / mushroom lamps with propane, mini electric heaters (items may be donated or loaned).CHILDREN (and Parents) TAKE NOTE: Want to be a “star”? “The Redeemer Star” is an outdoor 18” Christmas porch light that your whole family will enjoy for many years. Yours might be the winning ticket in a special Children’s $1.00 Raffle – and you don’t have to be present at the Saturday, 11/20 drawing to win! See the star and buy tickets in the Parish House lobby on Sundays (10/30 and 11/7).Thanks for your consideration. Please be in touch with one of the co-chairs to volunteer your time or to arrange to donate or loan items: Elisabeth Cooke [email protected] 610-654-4328 Caroline Manogue [email protected] 610-742-9072 Carolyn Morris [email protected] 610-888-8373.

CONTACT US

We’re glad you’re here! We’d like to get to know you. Please sign the guest book on the podium in the Church entrance way or fill out one of the cards in the pew. We will be in touch.

Worshiping in the time of COVID-19.For in church worship, all are requested to wear masks at all times and practice social distancing using only pews that are unmarked.

Many of us here today were not raised in The Episcopal Church, but have found in this parish a source of spiritual growth. If you might like to join this congregation or come seeking prayer or guidance, please speak to one of the clergy or call the office at 610-525-2486.

For young children, we offer a worship tote bag filled with materials meant to enhance their sense of worship and help them process new prayers, scriptures and hymns. Pick one up in the narthex.

Restrooms are located through the large wooden door halfway down the left side aisle. Baby changing stations are in the handicap re-stroom off the left side aisle and in the hallway restroom behind the high altar.

Lesson for the DayAdam and Eve

CHURCH SCHOOL AND YOUTH MINISTRIES

Upper Elementary-Rm 217 (grades 4 thru 7)Building on last week’s introduction to the Noah narrative, the children will explore the God’s frustration with human sinfulness and the cleansing power of the floodwaters. We will also reflect on the floodwaters in light of our own Baptism. Note Well - Our 4th/5th grade class and 6th/7th grade class will meet together in Room 217.Confirmation-Youth CottageThis week our Confirmation class will continue their testing of the Nicene Creed. Do we believe all that the Creed affirms? What objections do we have? Is that a problem? Should it be? Join us as we deliberate upon the Creed together.Redeemer Youth Group-Youth CottageRYG will not be meeting this Sunday because of Halloween and conflicting plans. We will resume on November 7th with an All Souls and All Saints celebration from 4-6 pm.

If you know a parishioner who needs pastoral care or could use a visit, please contact Peter [email protected] or ext. 17, Jo Ann [email protected] or ext. 16, Michael [email protected] or ext. 13, or any member of the Pastoral Care Committee. To add names or thanksgivings to the prayer list, use the online form at: www.TheRe-deemer.org/pastoral_care or contact Jo Ann Jones; [email protected]

NEW WEBSITE COMING IN NOVEMBER

Preschool - Rm 221(age 3 to Kindergarten)This week we dive into the Second Creation narrative and hear about Adam and Eve. Specifically we hear how they “fell apart” from God, each other, God’s creation and the image of God in their deep selves.

Lower Elementary - Rm 215(grades 1 to 3)Today we reflect on the ways Adam and Eve’s choices effected their connection with God and each other and all of creation. The choices they made and we now make have consequences. We will reflect on the ways in which our choices impact our ability to connect with God, others and creation.
