No. 119
I take this opportunity to extend my heartiest greetings for 2012. Last year has seen fructifying
many of the seeds sown in the previous year a result of the hard work put in by all of us here.
We are happy to receive an award for recognition of the excellent work in testing and
certification of Power Equipment at the 4th India Power Awards 2011 in the Programme
organised by Council of Power Utilities, New Delhi.
Our facilities which are already world class are being spruced up with kind support of the
Ministry of Power during the 12th plan. With this, we intend to expand our activities and
improve the quality of our services
Director General’s Message
Training – everybody would agree is an integral part of growth of any person and with our experience in good stead we
were able to cater to the wide power sector to meet their training needs., Notably, BESCOM and West Bengal State
Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd., who have a long term association with us for their training needs. We understand
training is a continuous process, with this in mind we have conducted many a programs for our employees-notably
“Activity Based Costing” and “Train the Trainers” by well-known faculty. Visweshwariya Technological University,
Belgaum is in the process of approving CPRI as a Research Centre for MS and PhD Programs. This would only be a small
beginning to our big dreams in this area.
This Quarter saw CPRI among other things, conducting special tests on SF6 insulated Auto Reclosure for Schneider
Electric, Australia. Hubli Electric Supply Company has awarded us the work for third party inspection of their
prestigious Niranthara Jothi Scheme. As always I request feedback from our stakeholders.
