Special note from Chairman, Mike Haviland: I just want to say how proud I am of the entire community of Lake Dale. It was such a pleasure to be a part of this. It definitely was a community project. As you know, we all donated to the community yard sale in June that made this all possible. The real thanks go to you, the POA; that‘s right if you live in the community you are the POA (Property Owner‘s Association). Special thanks also to my Co-Chairman, Ginny Feyes, and my right-hand man, Jack Hawkins. Others who helped out so much were my wife, Rhonda Haviland and POA President, Martha Coakley. Initially the County sent out college students to handle the survey, soon thereafter, the college students went back to school and some of our LDPOA Board mem- bers and residents took over. Because of their efforts, it appears we have a good chance of qualifying for the grant. This will be wonderful for ALL LDPOA members if we receive this grant. As you know, Lake County applied for this grant and we will be the beneficiaries if approved. We are extremely grateful to all depart- ments of the county that have been actively working on our behalf, specifically Commission Gerry Scheub, Surveyor George VanTil, and a tremendous amount of assistance from Milan Grozeanich, Executive Director of the Lake County Community Economic Develop- ment Department. Shame on You!! Whomever decided to remove and destroy the Fishing Derby banner that was put up one week prior to the Fishing Derby on August 7 th . The whole point of put- ting the sign up was to advertise this great children‘s event. ALSO, we recently had a tire slit as a car was parked on the upper parking lot at the POA Building. This occurred as a group of POA members were at- tending the RailCats Game. PLEASE, residents if you see someone vandalizing in our community, there is a $500 reward if the individual is identified and prose- cuted. If this behavior continues, at some point, the Board of Directors will be looking into additional secu- rity measures. Also, we have recently been informed that someone is coming to our piers via the water and removing gas cans from motored boats. The sheriff has been noti- fied. This appears to be happening all over the lake. Perhaps the only way to deter this action is to remove our gas cans from boats when not in use. Once again, if anyone has knowledge regarding the culprit(s), please call the POA number 219.696.0771 .

Curbside Leaf Collection The Lake County Solid Waste Management District is planning to run the rural leaf collection program again this fall. The program requires that leaves be piled alongside the road where they are vacuumed up. No bagging is required. This program eliminates leaf burn-ing that emits v.o.c.‘s and carbon monoxide into the air, exacerbating health problems like asthma, bronchitis and emphysema while causing mild eye irritation and severe congestion in healthy people. Specific collec-tion dates have yet to be determined. Watch for further details outside of the Community building, on our web-site (www.lakedalecarlia.org) and in the upcoming ad-dition of The Dalecarlian. Information can also be found on Lake County‘s Solid Waste web-site

Illegal Dumping on LDPOA Property It has been reported that yard waste, household trash, soiled cat litter and other debris is being dumped on outlots, ditches and other LDPOA property. Be ad-vised that the use of LDPOA property in such a manner

is illegal and subject to arrest and prosecution. Anyone that has information pertaining to the per-son or persons dumping trash and debris on LDPOA property is urged to contact the LDPOA at 219-696-0771. The LDPOA offers a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction

of violators.

Street Notification Please be aware that due to the narrow width of our roadways, parking on the side of ANY street in the community is prohibited and is enforceable by the Lake County Sheriff‘s Department. Street park-ing has already prevented emergency vehicles from reaching their call destination via a direct route and presents a danger to children and pe-destrians as the parked vehicles block the view of oncoming traffic. If this CONTINUES to be a prob-lem throughout our Community, the Lake County Sheriff‘s Department will provide full enforcement (which may include ticketing and towing) through-out the Community to alleviate the danger. Please

be mindful of the safety of others.

Remember those magazines, phone books, paper backs or any other paper products tucked away? They need to go!! RECYCLE them! Recycling bins can be found in the upper lot at the Commu-nity Building. Please put paper products only in the bins. We do not want plastic bags or other materials placed in the bins. Help increase our total recycling weight by 2% and the POA could receive a sizable check! PLEASE DO NOT PUT CARDBOARD IN THE PAPER RECY-CLING DUMPSTER!

Vintage Car Show Thanks to Winemac Old Auto Club for bringing the beautiful cars. Special Thanks to Ricardos for supplying the lunch to the car club members. Donuts were donated by Casey‘s for this event. Thanks to Tove for picking up all the donuts at a very early

hour and also for helping with the set up. With the support of Tove Roe, Mike Haviland, Martha Coakley, Jack Hawkins, and Marilyn Souther, everything went very smoothly. It is absolutely amazing that when we have so many nice things for our residents to take part in at Lake Dale, so very

few people take advantage of it. In the future the Board will have to decide whether or not to sponsor functions. The sad thing is that it is a function of the Board to encourage the community to come together. As it stands the few times that our community does come together is when we have some type of event i.e., flooding, sandbagging, Sept. ‘08 etc. Of course it is appreciated to have the outpouring of help in such a cases, however, it would be nice

if our community came together for fun things as well.

GFWC-LD Woman's Club The GFWC Lake Dalecarlia Woman's club will kick off the new year, 2010-2011, with a meeting at the home of Virginia Dobrzeniecki, 5408 Vasa Terrace, Lowell, IN., the second Tuesday of month, Septem-ber 14, 2010, 7:00 p.m. For new [and old] residents, the woman's club is a volunteer club that helps wherever needed to im-prove our community. We are always "looking" for new ideas. Would you like to be a guest at the September meeting? Need more information,

call Geane Anderson, 696-4371.

RailCats Outing Success On Friday August, 20th, 23 residents attended a RailCats game. The weather was terrific, the team brought home a win and the enthusi-asm was high! There were those that said we should do this more than once during the season. Lois Hawkins did a great job as the offi-cial Lake Dale cheer leader and it appears the RailCats listened to her, as they played very well. The group is looking forward to attending

a game next year. Thanks to Doyne Cole for handling the purchase of our group tickets.

LDVFD Thank You Party Because of the wonderful success of the Community Garage Sale this past June, the POA was able to host a Thank You party for the Lake Dale Volunteer Fire Department on August 21st. Thank You to Mike and Rhonda Haviland, and Ginny Feyes for everything you did to make this a huge success. By all accounts, the LDVFD parents and children had a great time. The playground equipment was heavily used, the food was great (once again supported by Ricardos Pizzeria and Deli), everyone enjoyed the DJ, and the awesome drinks that

Mike Haviland served. We are very fortunate to have this great group of volunteers at Lake Dale.

LDRWD minutes continued from page 3 Herb Steuer stated that there should be a max that Nicole is allowed to transfer from cap fund and not just be allowed to make the

transfer in any dollar amount. Nicole did not have the actual payoff, but stated that the Board agreed that we would pay off this loan

when the project was complete. Nicole also reminded the board that we are paying $2,000 per month out of our general fund that was

not appropriated in the 2010 budget for this loan, so the loan should be paid off as soon as possible. Attorney Sendak stated to make

sure that we give the bank a 2 day notice and to have a cancelled promissory note upon payment.

Motion by Judy Wolff to pay off the 2007 loan and allow a transfer from the capital fund of up to $10,000 if needed.

Seconded by Virginia Feyes. Questions or Corrections? No. Motion approved.

Nicole also stated that we have received our new NPDES permit and Jim will review for any changes.

Jim Maurer presented the board with a quotation request for replacement of the 3rd blower at the TP. This is one of the old blowers that

has gone out. Nicole asked the board to allow Jim to send out for quotations as he is knowledgeable about the blowers. Stanley Lee

directed Jim to go out for quotations.

159th Meter Project Update

OCRA grant possibility

Nicole stated that the District has passed the income survey. The money that we are now going for is going to be available in fall of

2011.

Service Charge for Repeated Maintenance Calls

The ordinance 2009-4 was re-written and presented to the board for review. All board members are to email any comments

to either Tim or Nicole. NEW BUSINESS

2011 Budget Nicole presented the proposed budget for review and discussion will begin next month.

OPEN DISCUSSION/PUBLIC COMMENT

Gary Hanes asked again about the house that is going to be constructed at the NW corner of 153rd and Clark. Tim Sendak stated that the statute states that if the line is within 300‘ the Board can force someone to connect or they can apply for a waiver. Nicole stated that there has been no contact from the property owner and to our knowl-

edge that a building permit has not even been applied for as of yet. Martha Coakley asked if she could be notified of any future overflows that would impact the lake. Nicole reminded everyone that they should call the office for information not Wanda‘s house. Her house number is for emergencies and during these heavy rainfalls maintenance is work-

ing overtime to get all calls done. ADJOURN

Motion to adjourn by Virginia Feyes Second by Geane Anderson EXECUTIVE SESSION (8:30-8:45)

Discuss pending litigation (pursuant to Indiana Code 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)
