that everyone has the same understanding of how to manage misbehaviour. The processes are linked to the Tier 1 Tier 2 and Tier 3 model of the PBS pyramid.

Mr France Mr France will be away until week 3 of term 3 due to Family matters. Mrs Clarke will be taking the position as the Acting Principal for this period of time.

ALLERGY AWARE SCHOOL As we have many students throughout the school who have severe allergies, especially to nut products and eggs, I request that parents assist by not sending nuts, nut bars or spreads containing nuts into the school. Some students, through incidental contact with nut products, can develop severe and potentially life threatening reactions. Thank you for your cooperation and support which is greatly appreciated by the school.

Kiss and Go Thank you to parents for following the “clockwise” flow of traffic in Concraige Way and the laneway behind the shopping centre. This improves safety for motorists, pedestrians and the flow of traffic.

P&C Meeting All members of the school community are welcome to attend the P&C meetings on Monday night. The next meeting will be held on Monday 5th August at 7:00pm. We look forward to having as many parents as possible join with us to support our school.

Mrs Thomas will present an overview of the foundations of fine motor skills necessary for success in the classroom. This will be an informal and practical meeting.

I look forward to seeing you there. Please contact the school on 94579455 so that we can prepare for your visit.

KITCHEN NEWS

Welcome back to another exciting term in the Kitchen. Our lettuce and silverbeet is thriving at the moment allowing us to finish our frittata lessons started last term. We use many eggs in our frittata which introduces their nutritional value, high in protein and iron. Our salad was delicious and full of wonderful colour and texture.

JINGLES IN JULY

This afternoon 113 band students performed for students, staff and parents in our annual ‘Jingles in July’ Concert. Each band performed three pieces and then combined to form one big band to conclude the concert.

Thank you to Mrs De Hoog and all the tutors for their hard work in getting the students ready for the performance. I special congratulations to the Training Band who performed in public for the very first time. They have certainly come a long way in the short time they have been playing.

THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!

We cannot control the way people interpret our ideas or

thoughts, but we can control the words and tones we

choose to convey them. Peace is built on understanding,

and wars are built on misunderstandings. Never

underestimate the power of a single word, and never

recklessly throw around words. One wrong word, or

misinterpreted word, can change the meaning of an entire

sentence and start a war. And one right word, or one kind

word, can grant you the heavens and open doors.” Suzy

SPORTS CHALLENGE – HULA HOOP CHALLENGE This idea was taken from the Disney Channel Hula Hoop Challenge, where participants were asked a bunch of questions while hula hooping. Once the hoop was dropped, they were out. Form your own list of questions (it can be on any topic) and answer as many as you can without dropping your hoop. How many questions can you answer? Did you get all the questions right? If you can’t hula hoop, trying spinning the hoop around a different body part, such as a wrist or ankle-skipping.

SPORTS QUIZ The Australian netball team played in the Netball World Cup finals in the UK last weekend. What is the name of the Australian netball team? Who did they play in the finals? Who won?
