Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, this term has been extremely busy

with students working hard on their Literacy and Nu-

meracy skills and also on the many extra curricular

activities that the school offers.

During this term we have had:

Thank you to the staff for their hard work and to the

community members who have been a great support

to us all. I hope everyone has a happy and safe holi-

day and we look forward to a productive term three.

Early Finish – End of Term School will finish at 2:30pm on Friday, 25th June

for the end of term 2.

School recommences on Monday, 12th July for

term 3.

Footy Tipping Don’t forget to put your tips in over the holidays.

Final AASC Session - Thursday The final Active After-School Communities

(AASC) session for term 2 will be this Thursday

24th June.

Office News Have you changed your address, home phone

number, mobile number, emergency contact

names…..anything? Please let the Office

know so that your details can be updated on

our system.

Subway Lunch orders should be handed into

the Office on Thursday mornings. Please

make sure the right money is enclosed. No

change is given.

A reminder that Student Banking is done on

Tuesdays.

Please check lost property….it’s overflow-

ing.

Please return chocolate money to school by

July 16th. Thankyou to the families who

have already sold their box. Great effort!

There are still a few boxes to sell if anyone

would like to sell some over the holidays.

Found— a pair of glasses, please claim

from the Office. .

Gymnastics We have been notified this week that there will

be a change to the arrangements for the gym-

nastics program. The program will continue to

be run by John Palmer but will be located at

the YMCA on Thursdays. A note will go home

after the holidays.

Long Service Leave

Parents have been previously advised on the news-

letter of the following:

Jan Brunswick is on leave from Thursday 24th June

until Monday 9th August and is being replaced by

Gary Lavars.

Hilary Miller is on leave for the first week of Term

3 and replaced by Ann Quigley.

Sue Briggs will be on long service leave for the last

week of term 3.

Only a few days to go!!!

Better Schools ends this Sunday! While Lockwood South P.S. definitely seems to have first prize in reach, Epsom Primary School is in the running for the 2

nd, 3

rd and final weekly prizes. Re-

member the local prizes are as follows: 1

st - $2,000

2nd

- $1,000 3

rd - $500

Weekly prizes are valued at approximately. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS Better Schools 2010 finishes this Sunday which coin-cides with school holidays. I will collect receipts from your schools this Friday, but please remind students and their families that they can still submit receipts at Customer Service throughout this weekend.

Can you help with the gardens over

the holidays? Please fill in the form on this page if you are

available to volunteer for the gardening roster

during the school holidays.

Two families each week is a perfect way to

keep our grounds looking tidy.

Thank you to all families who have com-

pleted their gardening duty so far this year.

Gallery At this stage it appears that the construc-

tion of the gallery between our new build-

ings will be completed over the Christmas

break.

These photos are of a similar gallery con-

structed at another school.

We are really looking forward to having

this additional shared working space.

Mrs Miller’s class has been reading Junk Castle by Robin Klein.

They constructed this castle during the week.

What a creative group of students!
