This will be the final newsletter for the year as students will finish on Wednesday 18 th December. There are a lot of reminders and thank-you acknowledgements to include this week. CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Mr Dorrell who was successful in gaining a permanent teaching position in Sydney and to Mr Burgess who will be relieving as Principal at Eurongilly Public School for 2014. We wish you every success. COMING EVENTS TODAY - Tuesday 10 th December: 11.40am K-2 Christmas Concert in the school hall. Children are asked to wear ‘Christmas’ clothes. 6.00pm Presentation Night at the RSL. All children are asked to wear full summer school uniform. For those parents dropping their child off, please by prompt at collecting your child at 7.00pm TOMORROW - Wednesday 11 th December: 10.00am Major Assembly under the COLA. 6.00pm Year 6 Farewell at Commercial Club. Year 5 and 6 students only. Please wear smart casual clothes with a race day theme. Thursday 12 th December: 11.00am Parent Helpers morning tea in the staffroom. If in the hustle of end of year activities your invitation has not made it home and you have helped out our school in any way this year, please come along. Friday 13 th December: SCHOOL REPORTS GO HOME Student Reward Day and stage parties. Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 are required to wear their school uniform while Stage 2 and 3 are able to wear sensible mufti clothes. Please read the notes sent home for details on each stages activities and requirements. ABOVE ALL PLEASE REMEMBER SUN SAFETY. Make sure your child has sunscreen, hat, sensible shoes, water bottle etc. to ensure they stay safe in the sun and have the most fun possible. Students ineligible to attend will receive a note before Friday. Thank you to the parents of these children for giving up a large chunk of your Saturday to support our school and this commemorative event. To any families who went to watch I am sure you will agree that despite the heat, it was a very moving ceremony to highlight a significant part of our local and national history. Special thanks to Miss Nye for dealing so efficiently with a few of the challenges that arose and her record breaking dash and run efforts. To Tandy and Trevor Holden for your generous donations of more signs for our school. We will have a lovely glossy sign for our lectern as well as removable sticker signs which we can use when out and about. I have been given the guarantee that these are easy to apply, so let’s see how I go tonight. To Wagga RSL for donating a new flag to the school. To our Stage 3 students and teachers for your

fantastic efforts and behaviour last week whilst in Canberra. Yet again, Wagga Wagga Public School’s great name was upheld. I hear that there were some very weary travellers on return which just goes to show that a busy and fun time was had.

To the many parents and friends for your many and varied

contributions to our wonderful school. No matter how big or small, whether in the classroom or out, we appreciate all you do to support us in providing such a range of positive and rewarding learning and extra-curricular activities for our children.

To our dedicated and enthusiastic staff, congratulations on

another terrific year. There are so many amazing memories and highlights for 2013 and behind everyone of them is a staff member organising, training, planning, creating etc. You are a terrific team of professionals who put so much into what you do. Well done.

And finally, to our beautiful, talented and unique students,

thank you for giving your energy, excitement and commitment into everything you do. It is quite remarkable how much each and every one of you has learnt and grown throughout the year and you should be very proud of your achievements and successes. You have continued to uphold Wagga Wagga Public’s excellent reputation within the community and we are very proud of you.

The 2014 school commences for Years 1 to 6 on Wednesday 29th January 2014 and for new Kindergarten students on Thursday 30th December Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a very happy, safe and relaxing holiday period.
