You could, however, send an institutional note card to the PSA wishing them Happy Holidays G I F T S - NCAA rules prohibit coaches and other staff members from providing gifts (regardless of value or type) to CPP student-athletes. If your team will be holding a gift exchange or Secret Santa event, please make sure that student-athletes only exchange gifts with other student-athletes (no coaches or staff) and that their participation is voluntary M E A L S - All occasional meal rules still apply for any booster who wishes to provide a student-athlete or entire team with a holiday meal/party. Please contact the Compliance Office to seek approval prior to the scheduled meal - Student-athletes who are required to remain on campus for practice or competition may be provided with meal expenses. HOME GAMES & IMPORTANT DATES
- Student-athletes may compete outside of CPP’s declared playing and practice season as a member of an outside team in any noncollegiate, amateur competition during any official vacation period, except for those on the men’s or women’s basketball team- This competition must be approved PRIOR to the event taking place- If you know of any of your athletes interested in participating in outside competition, please direct them to the compliance office to fill out the proper paperwork
- CPP may provide up to FOUR complimentary admissions on an individual game basis to a student-athlete in the sport in which they play- During an official visit, a maximum of FIVE complimentary admissions to a campus athletics event or game may be provided to the potential student-athlete, on an individual game basis to be used for the PSA and those accompanying them- CPP coaches and staff may receive an UNLIMITED amount of complimentary admissions- High school, college-preparatory school or two-year college coach can receive a max of TWO complimentary admissions on an individual game basis, to home athletics contests in which the institutions intercollegiate team regularly practices or competes
Coaches will add the names for the complimentary tickets for the student-athletes andcoaches/staff, along with any PSAs on an official visit or outside coaches to the following3 forms no later than THREE hours prior to the game...
1. Student-Athlete Complimentary Admissions (4 names per athlete)2. Coaches_Staff Complimentary Admissions (Unlimited names)3. PSA Complimentary Admissions (Up to 5 for PSAs and 2 for outside coaches)
Guests, coaches and PSAs on the complimentary admissions list must show identificationand sign the pass list next to their name as a form of receipt

For a portion of the University of the North Pole’s winter holiday break, the North Pole men’s basketball team was required to stay on campus for practice and competition. The head coach issued per diem to the basketball student-athletes. One student-athlete, who received the meal allowance, stayed at home with his family during the entire break. The student-athletes were released from practice with five days remainingin the break. After their release, two student-athletes who were receiving meal allowances over the break and whose families lived on theother side of the country remained in their apartment. North Pole continued to provide these two student-athletes their meal allowances until the spring semester began. All other student-athletes went home and did not receive any more meal allowances.
It was impermissible for the basketball team to give vacation per diem to the student-athlete who stayed at home during the break.A student-athlete who lives at his or her home during a vacation period cannot receive such expenses. Additionally, it was impermissible for thebasketball team to pay the meal expenses for the two student-athletes remaining in the area for the five days after practice ended. Since theteam had been released and the student-athletes were no longer required to attend practice the University of the North Pole was prohibited from giving them meal expenses.
