To God be the Glory2) Conferences with Answers in Genesis (AiG) fromtember 24th27th. The purpose of the conference w

AiG was as follows:a. To be a blessing to our local churches by facilit

a workshop for pastors and Christian workers. Tassist them in enhancing their knowledge in apgetics communicated by experts in the field of ction vs. evolution.

    b. To deliver seminars on issues related to Creatiand intelligent design proven by the book of Gefollowed by open forums at the University of NoCarolina at Greensboro and N.C. A&T Universi

Our meetings on Sunday the 25th were well attendethe evening service had four churches combining thservices plus many guests. The meeting lasted 2 hobut the people were very interested and asked lots oquestions to the presenter from Answers in Genesis

On Monday the 26th, we were at UNCG and we did have as good attendance as on Tuesday at NC A&Tversity. The last meeting started at 7:30 PM and we not finish until 11:30 PM. The students at NC A&T wso keen to learn and asked many good questions topresenters, Mr. Gardner and Dr. White.

Also, the Lord allowed us to give out 86 Bibles at bo

Universities! I have never seen so much enthusiasmjoy from a young person in the USA when given a Bfor the first time.

    To God be the Glory!

In1875, Fanny Crosby wrote the magnificent hymncalled, To God be the Glory. The first verse starts: ToGod be the Glory great things He has done; So loved Hethe world that He gave us His son, Who yielded His lifean atonement for sin, and opened the life gate that allmay go in.

I dont know what inspired Fanny Crosby to write suchan excellent expression of praise to the Lord, but reca-pitulating everything that has happened during the lastcouple of months, there are no better words to describeour praise than to use this beautiful hymn, To God be

    the Glory.

For the months of August and September we hadscheduled two major events for our ministry:

    1) Bible Distribution Day at Elon University on Septem-ber 15th. Initially, we were scheduled to distribute Biblesat the commencement week when students returned toclasses. However, the University allocated a separateday for most churches and organizations to have a min-istry table on campus.

Interestingly, a week before this event, I received a mes-sage from a local Christian bookstore offering to donate

Bibles. They gave us 250 Bibles! In total we had 550 giftBibles, 50 Gideon Bibles, 50 Gideon N.T., 50 Tanakh(Hebrew/English Bibles - for Jewish students) and 300Bibles on CD-ROM (Bibles in 15 languages).

At Elon University we gave 40 Bibles, 4 Tanakh and 30Bibles on CD-ROM. We also received gift certificatesfrom local businesses (restaurants, hair salon, oilchanges, bowling passes, movie passes, etc.) to giveaway to students.

It was amazing to see how the Lord provided for all ofour needs and granted us a day to deliver His writtenWord to college students at Elon University.

    Binge Drinking by CollegeStudents

Binge Drinking: refers to theheavy consumption of alcoholover a short period of time .

Today the generally accepteddefinition of binge drinking inthe U. S . is the consumptionof five or more drinks in a rowby men - or four or moredrinks in a row by women .

The age of 19 to 24 is associ-ated with the highest preva-lence of periodic heavy alco-hol consumption during thelife span .

    On average, college students

may drink on fewer occasionsthan their non-collegiatepeers, but they drink heavilyon a more frequent basis thannon-students.*

About one-half of all fataltraffic crashes among thoseaged 18 to 24 involvealcohol.*

Years ago while on mission trips, Jackie and I had theopportunity to go to countrieswhere Christianity is rare andBibles are scarce. Every timethat we got a chance to putBibles in peoples hands, itwas a great blessing! Theirtears of gratitude was a greatreward to all of us.

However, I never thoughtthat I would experience thesame kind of reactions righthere in the United States. As

mentioned earlier in thisNewsletter, we had the opportunity to give a total of126 Bibles in three Universities.

At Elon University, some students asked if they couldhave an extra Bible so they could give it to friends.

At UNC-Greensboro, a whole group of students inter-rupted their meeting to receive a Bible from us. Onefemale student after receiving a Bible held it andhugged it as she was holding something delicate.

Another female student started to scream of joy andthanked us for bringing Bibles to her university. Herexcitement so great, that she gave a bear hug to my

teammate and later turned to me and also gave me a

bear hug saying: thank you, thank you!During the second week of No-vember, while distributing gos-pel tracts on the streets of ElonUniversity, I had a blessed sur-prise.

After I gave a tract to a couple, the girl recognized our PathWaylogo and said: PathWay! Youguys were giving out Bibles atthe beginning of classes, right?Well let me tell you I asked forthree Bibles and you guys did not

have a problem of giving them tome. I kept one Bible for me and gave one Bible to myroommate and for her it was the very first time that sheheld a Bible in her hands. It is so cool to see her read-ing her Bible. But that is not the end! The other Bible, Igave it to this young man beside me it was also hisfirst Bible and last month he received Jesus Christ ashis personal savior Thank you for your ministry! Youguys are a blessing!

Such testimony is priceless! We as a team are sopumped up and so encouraged that words could neverdescribe what we feel. To God be the Glory!!

Sept 15th Bible Distribution day at Elon University. In thispicture: Regenia, Jackie and Pastor David Carter.

My name is Serena Bowman, I thank God that I was born to Christian parents who broughme to church as a child. It was at a VBS that I recognized that I was a sinner and Irepented of my sin and received Jesus as my personal Savior.

I grew up serving in my church, but my focus was to get an education and have a succesful career. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and startedworking for our local newspaper. I strived to excel at each position and I am currently the

Advertising Sales Manager. I was a driven individual setting my sights on advancing to thetop of my field and then the Lord changed my path.

In 2010, I went on our churchs first mission trip to South Carolina. Even though I hadplanned to only spend a few days there due to work, I felt Gods calling so strongly, and I stayed the entire time. TheLord opened my eyes to His ministry outside of my world. I was convicted in my heart that God wanted me to domore for Him and He allowed my path to cross with Santiago and Jackie.

When Santiago and Jackie shared their burden for college ministry, I told them that I wanted to help. Although I didnot have much experience working with college youth, I have always had a burden for youth. I dedicated my life toserve God and reach college youth with the Gospel of Christ.

Serving the Lord with PathWay has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I look forward to hitting the streetof Elon each week to hand out gospel tracts. At times we experience some rejection, but when a student thanks usfor the tract and tells us to keep it up, it is worth it all. We also conduct weekly Bible studies and we are starting to

see fruits of our labor. Our Bible studies are aimed at helping Christian students develop strong principles for ameaningful walk with the Lord.

We have seen many blessings and trials this past year, but we have seen Gods hand upon this ministry every stepof the way. It is such a privilege to serve God as president of PathWay. I pray for God to anoint me with wisdom to ba leader pleasing to Him.

    Final Thoughts

    O L O R T E G U I N E W S F A L L 2 0 1 1

In October Jackie and I had the opportu-nity to travel to Lima - Peru for 3 weeks.Originally, our plan was to travel to Peruand Argentina and survey the possibilitiesto take future mission trips for collegestudents. However, due to the lengthy

waiting period to get our visas we couldnot travel to Argentina as we originallyplanned.

As mentioned earlier, we were alsoworking on our visas while in Peru.

Amazingly the U.S consulate was veryhelpful and advised us to consider othervisa options that they believe was mostsuitable for us. At present, we returnedback to the USA with waiver visas andLord willing we will be travelling to Aus-tralia at the beginning of next year to getour new visas.

In regards to the possibility for ministryopportunities in South America, I met withseveral pastors and missionaries while inLima, Peru.

I was so encouraged to see firsthand howChristianity has advanced in Peru.Churches that once upon a time had oneservice, today they run two or up to threemorning services.

We were also encouraged to hearfrom pastors about the need forcollege ministries.

Our intention was to explore thepossibilities of taking missionteams to South America and other

countries around the world in orderto do the following: assistchurches, support pastors andtheir ministries and be a source of

encouragement to missionariesin the field by joining forces tofacilitate evangelistic efforts.

Our objectives for our collegeyouth are: Exposure to national orforeign Missions Create awareness of needsin ministry and

Encourage college kids to usetheir gained skills in serving theLord.

During our survey, pastors outlinedthat there are not college ministriesin Lima. One church had 30 collegeyouth but they did not know how tocustomize a program to address

    their needs.

College 2011 - 2012 first meeting for the semester

Another pastor asked to bring collteams from the USA and help thereach out Universities in Lima andalso develop a college ministryprogram for their youth.

Amazingly, every church that wevisited we had the same request. willing we will be going back to Peand finish the details for a ministryteam to visit in the summer of 201

Please pray that this trip will be a ity and a blessing to Pastors in Peas well as our college youth.

With Pastor Percy & Mosha Castro

Jackie and I are very grateful to God for the gift of you in our lives! Your friendship, prayers, words of wisdom, notes of encouragement and support have been a tremendous blessing to us and our ministry team. Many blessingsfor you, enjoy your time with family and friends; and together thank God for His blessings in our lives.

Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying,Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12
