Year 7 rUGBYThis year group have shown great commitment and potentialto Rugby, of which we haven’t seen at Fox’s for a while and Isay that with great regard for the current high standards weset ourselves. We have had a very good A squad who have won3 out of 3 area tournaments and finish the season as AREACHAMPIONS. Unlike previous years, this current group bringgreater external rugby influences than we have seen in recentyears which I only hope more students get involved with. Whatis equally important to our future success is to have a largeand committed squad and in our B and C squads we have notbeen disappointed. I don’t want to speak too early, but I havehigh hopes for this year group and if they maintain theirinterest and commitment, along with a few more starting toplay outside of school, I believe we have the potential tobecome a very strong side within the area.

Year 11 BoYS rUGBYUnfortunately the start of our season was hugely affected by4 cancelled games. All the same, we have fronted up well, withsome great individual performances and some pleasing teamphases during the games, showing over the 5 years, studentsand collections of the squad have developed well. I hope theboys continue with some rugby outside of school and I’m suresome of them will do very well.

SCARY SCHOOL TOURSStudents at Bishop Fox's were treated to a terrifying Theatreexperience with sell-out performances of Scary School Tourson Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd October, 2015.

KS3 & KS4 students lurked in corridors, levitated on stairs andlingered in classrooms to scare the life out of their poor, unsuspecting touring audiences.

The installation Theatre piece was put together by Dramateachers Miss Keedwell and Mrs Evans who wanted to engage newaudience members and try out a slightly different performanceventure to the usual school play.

Miss Keedwell says "We held auditions in the Summer Term withthe brief simply to 'scare us'. We were amazed by the studentsability to remain focused and use their imaginations and weregenuinely terrified by their auditions! We then worked with thestudents’ in the Autumn term to plan a route around school thatused the wonderful facilities at Fox's in creative, spooky ways."

Technical support from returning Fox's students with LED lightingand effects added a professional feel to the Tour.

Judging by the screams from the audiences (and that was mainlythe dads), the event was a great success, with students alreadyexcitedly preparing for next year's Frightfest!

triPSOne of the calendar highlights is the brilliant trips to a widevariety of Musicals and the start of term has seen a wide rangeof organised excursions planned. With the Year 7s once again, they have an exciting opportunity to watch the Lion King inLondon. This will allow many Year 7s the opportunity to witnessthe impressive stage puppetry of the production team, as wellas enjoy the recognisable film presented on stage.

KS4 will have the opportunity to watch the Bodyguard atBristol. This iconic tearjerker, made famous by Kevin Costnerand Whitney Houston has been brought to the stage. It certainlywill be an evening where no dry eye will be in the house!!

Years 8/9 and 10 within the school also have the opportunityto watch the toe tappingly, beat moving hit musical of Hairspray.

extra cUrricULarNext term we are proud to be introducing a Samba, Brass andUkulele group to our extra curricular activities. The threedifferent groups will allow students of any musical ability to trynew instruments and learn a different skill whilst at school. Soif you fancy swaying to Hawaiian trees or dancing to the beat ofthe drum then ask Miss Wride for a letter.

If you are interested in starting an instrumental or singinglessons then please come to the Music Department for a letter.Currently we cater to brass, woodwind, string, percussion andvocal lessons!

cUrricULUM DaYGreased back hair and electrifying performances took place inschool on the Year 9 Curriculum day on the 17th November. All those that took part joined in with lightening enthusiasm forthe day. A massive well done to all involved, and thanks to MissWride, Mrs Evans and Miss Absalom for putting on the day. It’s true to say we go together here at Fox’s!
