Accolades a plenty

St. Marks Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Baghorganized Prakriti and Sanskriti Utsav on 23 April and 24 April 2014. .Our students participated in a host of activities like Collage and Poster Making, Quiz, Painting competition. Vidushi Aggarwal and Ishita Goel of class VII secured second position in Collage Making and Khushi of class VIII got a consolation prize in Poster Making.

William Shakespeare on his birthday on23 April 2014. While performing soliloquies withperfect dramatization usingShakespearean language madethe characters alive on stage.

Shakespeare’s Day Birthday celebrations also included an Inter House Quiz Competition of class IX students on “Life and Works of Shakespeare”. It was quite an informative and learning experience.

Informative Session With an aim to turn the Modernites into Cyber

Smart Citizens, awakening sessions were held on

16th and 17th April 2014 for the students of class IX

to XII in association with “Cup of Technology” , a

society working to train the professionals on cyber

securities.

Universities‟ was conducted on 10 April 2014 for

the students of Class XII. Representatives from

Perth University presented a brief presentation on

the study programs and the prospects in the fast

paced world.

On the way to Wonderland-A magical journey!!

„On the way to Wonderland‟ activity was conducted for the

young learners of class II on 15.04.2014 (Tuesday)

wherein they portrayed an assortment of characters from

the enchanted world of fairy tales. They also recounted

monologues on characters like Cinderella, Snow White,

Sinbad and many more. It was a fabled journey which

certainly left the audience hypnotized.

I am the Earth and the Earth is me!!!A plethora of activities arranged for the students of Pre Primary to class Von 22.04.2014 (Tuesday) proved to be yet another aide memoire to all theyouthful global citizens to conserve the environment and save their planet.The learners of Pre Primary and class I decorated jute bags and pen standusing eco-friendly material.Class II executed their duty towards the environment by planting saplingsin the school premises. Class III also displayed their spirit by deliveringpoems on the topic –‘My Green Planet’. Class IV and V demonstrated theirgrit by creating Wind Chimes and Head Gears respectively. The studentssincerely participated in the activities and enjoyed them too.

Lemonade Activity- a respite

from the scorching heat!!“No drink other than the very Indian „Lemonade‟ can bring you

relief in this sweltering hot weather.”

To soothe the young souls of class I and to help them refresh

their mind and body, a Lemonade Making Activity was

organized on 25.04.2014 (Friday). They made lemonade in

the presence of their teachers and nipped it with pleasure.

My India, my pride!

We all are proud of our country‟s rich culture and heritage. In order to make the young learners have a better insight into India‟s distinct

background, a quiz competition „Incredible India‟ was organized for the students of class III on 01.04.2014 (Thursday). It involved varied areas of our country like monuments, states and capitals, exotic spices,

and unique modes of transport etc. The competition certainly helped everyone learn a lot about our motherland, India.

Mother’s day celebrationMothers – angels on Earth!!

Students of Pre Primary and class I expressed their gratitude towards their mother by reciting poems and presenting handouts to their mother saying

‘Love You Mom’ on the special occasion of Mother’s Day on 02.05.2014 (Friday). Their

mothers in return served them with mouthwatering homemade dishes which they relished with their

friends.

World Red Cross DayModernites are always ready to lend a hand!

The students of Pre Primary and class I demonstrated kindness by visiting ‘Salaam Balak Trust’ on 05.05.2014 (Monday). They shared biscuits with the underprivileged children there. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to

realize their moral duties as citizens of society. It was a memorable experience for all.

You gotta

spell it right!

The youthful learners of Class IV realized the vital role of spellings in English language through a Spell Bee Competition held for them on 06.05.2014 (Tuesday). It included rearranging of letters, choosing the correct spellings, word grid and crossword puzzle. It was certainly an out of the ordinary activity.

In series of DFID School partnership exchange programme Mrs. Simerdeep Kaur and Mrs. Kavita Bhatia visited Chasetown community

school and Erasmus Darwin Academy, Staffordshire , UK . This partnership has opened up new avenues for both the schools and has

brought about the feeling of oneness between the young people belonging to two different geographical ,cultural and social

environments.

Ms. Mena Mittle and Ms. Sapna Minglani along with a group of 8 students went for 15 days trip to USA from 28 May 2014-8 June 2014. The experience of the whole team was truly momentous and remarkable for each one to cherish forever.

Precaution is better than cure

Interact Club in association with the Rotary Club organiseda workshop on Thalassemia on 19 May 2014 for the students of class XII. Dr. Tejinder Singh, the resource person made students aware of the symptoms and the precautions to cure such a dreadful disease.
