PRESIDENT’S NOTES
Hi all y'all,
Not a whole lot going on cept the heat!!!
We had a good turnout at the Kingsland Aquaboom!
Lots of club members and a few visitors. Plenty of
good food and socializing.
Rain out for the first July Saturday Cruise-In. Only
one car showed up. Guess who was the Dumb A..
Hmm! July 20th Cruise-In was better with about 10
or 15 cars. I think I heard Mark say 50 or 60. but y'all
know how that goes!
Welcome new club members. Brigitte Alston and her
daughter Rhonda Davis. Club now has 92 paid mem-
bers. A total of about 170 members. Looking real
good!!

MARK COULD HAVE SAID
Howdy LARC Members, Are y'all as hot as I am? I'm sure glad there is no Car Shows coming up, cuz it's
just too darn hot to hang out in this weather. [Ed. Note: Mark said it still is too hot to do an activity report for
this August issue of the Newsletter, so your fiendly editor will do his best.]
Past Events
July 4th—Our annual Aqua Boom Cruise-In at the SSBT in Kingsland. Between Mark and Don we were
treated to great franks and chili. They really outdid themselves in setting up a picnic under the SSBT shelter.
Everyone brought a dish—salads, chips, desserts and everybody got their fill. We even had a few free-
loaders try to cut in for free food, but Ruth told them how the cow ate the cabbage. If memory serves, we had
between 30 to 40 cars (memory subject to error), and a lot of visitors. Even though the weather was scorch-
ing, everyone stayed comfortable under the shelter. Never thought a small town like Kingwood could put to-
gether such a big event and parade. In addition, most folks got their cars safely home before the skies
opened up with very welcome rain, and our new club trailer is proving its worth for storing and transporting
our equipment. Let’s do it again next year!!
July 6 & 20—Steak Night at the Eagles - A great bargain for a good meal. Where else can you get steak
and all the trimmings for $12.00?? Lots of our members turned out.
July 10—Our monthly membership meeting at the Marble Falls Library drew a full crowd—almost standing
room only, and to add, great treats. Not a lot of old or new bizness to conduct.
July 7 & 21—Our Saturday Night Fever get togethers at the Marble Falls branch of the SSBT, we are in the
shade in the afternoon and they are well attended, even in such hot weather.
July 27, 28 & 29—The Sweat Meet in Fredericksburg (OOPS, I meant Swap Meet). Some of our folks at-
tended. Wonder what bargains they found.
Coming Events
Aug. 3 & 17—Steak Night at the Eagles. Good food and good company guaranteed.
Aug. 4 & 18—Our Saturday Night Fever at the Marble Falls SSBT—Stay in the shade and be cool.
MAY STILL BE FOR SALE
John Warren’s cousin Joanne Davidson is trying to sell his 8000 lb capacity car lift. It was supposed to be off
his farm by July 17, but there may be a chance that it may still be available.
