Issue No.09 Spring Term ‘15 What we’ve been up to: 2nd Chailey News 1 Congratulations to our Group Scout Leader, Keith Hotton who was awarded his wood badge during our AGM. In October we welcomed back our regular visitors, Cuckfield Scouts who came prepared with some new games for us to play and joined in with us for some games too. Below you can see Emma teaming up with two of the Scouts for Cuckfield for a game of Hockey. Other things we got up to last term included… Making our own soup which we were able to sell on bonfire night, making Christmas Crackers which we used at our Christmas party and making guys for our Bonfire. Add in plenty of silliness and a few games and it turned out to be a pretty great term! Autumn term finished as always with a great Christmas party. We were visited by the Big Father C complete with sack full of presents. for everyone. Unfortunately we didn’t have a Christmas tree for our party, but, good Scouts that we are, we improvised and decorated two of our guests instead! In October we welcomed back our regular visitors, Cuckfield Scouts who came prepared with some new games for us to

Albert Joseph Davey Phillips was born on the 4th January. We look forward to welcoming Bertie to the group!

Eric & Ernie have fun in the sun Kim & Mike are two of our longest serving leaders, between them they have clocked over 75 years with the group! Some would say that service like that deserves respect and reverence. Others would prefer to tease them, and make rude jokes about their age! This teasing from certain family members has led to a nickname for the pair, we like to call them Eric and Ernie in reference to that other great double act that has us all in stitches.
In this latest instalment we find the hilarious duo chilling out in the hot tub whilst on holiday in Cyprus!

Summer Camp is now confirmed for 25th - 31st July 2015 This year we will be camping at Plumpton Agricultural college, nestled at the foot of the downs in East Sussex
We will be camping in “Church Field” shown on the map here. Scouts and leaders letters will be coming out shortly. If you haven’t come to camp before, please get in touch so we can keep you posted with details.
