A Message From Your Conifer Chamber Board President, Melissa Baker

(Pictured with Dawn Smith)

Reach Melissa at [email protected] and 720-258-5486.

Over this past year at the Chamber, we've seen many changes come about. We've improved office efficiency, combined our events to minimize volunteer effort and maximize membership benefits while increasing our outreach into the community. As we start the new year, more change is upon us. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our exceptional Executive Director, Dawn Smith. Dawn has been a guiding light for our organization over the past three years and she will be greatly missed. We wish her luck as she takes on her new role as the President of the Golden Chamber. As we begin our search for a suitable replacement we welcome your input. Please feel free to contact me with your suggestions.

This month learn how to effectively execute your strategic plan for the year. We welcome Kelly Trilk as he teaches us ways to help stay the course and understand common execution pitfalls while providing the tools to help avoid them. Kelly will provide an in-depth look at executing strategies at this month's Lunch & Learn on Thursday January 23rd.

Are you ready for winter? Come celebrate with us February 22nd. Kick off the day at Meyer Ranch Open Space with the Second Annual Mt. Lugo Luge Snow Tubing Competition presented by Dall Plumbing and the 285 Barrel Stave Downhill presented by the 285 Optimists at 11a. After a morning of slopeside fun, warm up at our Third Annual FeBREWary Beer Tasting presented by Marketing Type Guys at Los 3 Garcias from 1:30p-4:30p. For more information please visit www.goconifer.com.

Thank you all for your continued support and I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year!

Good Afternoon from Marcel Flukiger – co-chair of the 285 Tourism Committee! I think that it is important that we continue to promote the corridor for tourism with our Chambers com-bined committee, but will have co-chairs from each Chamber. I will commit to be the Platte Canyon Co-chair this year. We are looking to build up the team again, so our committee is about 3-4 strong from each Cham-ber. Please call all enthusiastic tourism oriented business owners to participate for great results. I like to fo-cus on connecting with county and state sources and research some funding options for our multi community effort. On another note, we should have enough maps for this year and businesses will not have to budget for a new ad on the map in 2014. Next meeting is tomorrow night, Wednesday, January 15th at 6p. Please join the team.
