It doesn't help with windy days however students and parents are reminded to use the bins provided. All students have me in class to eat and should only be taking food with no wrapping outside aſter the bell. The grade 5/6 students do a great job pung the bins out each day, please ensure you use them. While each class has rostered weeks where they are on yard duty everyone must take responsibility for keeping our grounds dy. We have received new yellow lidded recycle bins from the council that are emped each fortnight. These bins take all recycling items- paper, plasc and glass. Again the year 5/6 students have added this to their roles and responsibilies. A reminder for parents and students that school uniform must be worn every day. Runners are allowed on days when students have PE or sport but they should wear black shoes on other days. An announcement will be made in the next newsleer regarding our uniform suppliers. As stated in earlier newsleers school leadership, School Council and Parents Associaon have been working through a process to award the school’s uniform contract for the next three years. Feedback Over the coming weeks parents will be asked to provide feedback on aspects of the school through surveys. The parent opinion survey has already gone out to randomly selected families (15% of all families) and is due back to the office by the 1 st of August. Included in today's newsleer is a link to our survey about Student Reports and Parent Teacher Exchange/ Interviews. While many parts of the reporng process are mandatory, the DEECD is looking to make changes next year and your feedback will help shape the reporng format for coming years. In the next edion of the newsleer there will be a facilies survey also. This is aimed to gauge community feelings regarding the grounds and entrances and to help assist with master planning of our school, provide data for the Moonee Valley Council and also help guide conversaons and planning as the Moonee Valley Race Course development connues. Student Led Three-Way Conferences Three-way conferences are designed to achieve the following goals: to help students demonstrate evidence of learning to teach students the process of reflecon and Self-evaluaon to facilitate the development of students' organisaonal and oral communicaon skills and to increase their self-confidence to encourage students, parents, and teachers to engage in open and honest dialogue to encourage students to accept personal responsibility for their learning to increase parent understanding of their child’s learning Congratulaons to all students for their efforts in preparing for and leading their learning conferences last Tuesday. It was fantasc to see students taking such pride and ownership in their learning. Many students were presenng for the first me. For the students who have previously parcipated in the three way conference, their skill and confidence was even greater than last year. Hard copies of this newsleer available at the office. Thank-you to all students, teachers and parents for their support of this important element of our assessment and reporting program.
In 2014, we are reviewing our assessment and reporting process within the school. To help with planning for 2015, we would appreciate some feedback; specifically regarding the parent- teacher exchange, the student semester report template and the three way conferences. As previously stated, this will enable us to plan for improvement in the future.
University of NSW/ International Competitions and Assessments (ICAS)
Many students in year two to six participated in the science competition last term. Science results from our students were handed out at assembly last week and were outstanding. They ranged from Certificates of Participation, Merit, Credit, Distinction and High Distinction. Students participating are now awaiting results from spelling, writing and English that have already been completed. The certificates will be handed out to students at assembly. The maths competition will be held in the library on the 12th of August for those that have already entered.
Hockey 7’s mixed team off to Regionals
Our hockey team found out on Monday that they will be representing our district at the regional level. They will compete on Monday 4th August at the Werribee Hockey Club, Presidents Park Reserve, 413 McGraths Rd, Wyndham Vale. We wish the following students well and look forward to hearing about their efforts
representing the school: Tait Pascoe, Devlin McCarthy, Bryn Cunliffe, Tom Cunliffe, Ben Gray, Flynn Gray, Angus Beaumont, Justyn Alcock, Oli Darwin, Deen Gulam. Unfortunately Declan Dooley won’t be participating due to him representing the school in the state hockey team next week. Good luck Declan!

A fun night out for parents, we already have twelve tables booked. Tables are still available and if interested please see details included in the newsletter. Please ensure all tables are paid for by Wednesday 6th August. It should be a great night out and I look forward to seeing you all there.

With less than 12 weeks to go it’s time to start collecting for the big day. With out the help of parents the Fete simply cannot be a success, so please jump on board and assist to make this a great day. We only do this every 2 years and it is the biggest fundraiser we do.
The proceeds from this years Spring Fete will be used to install the last few interactive whiteboards, new laptops and ICT re-sources, more artificial turf in the playground area and to revamp the seated area on the oval etc. These improvements take consid-erable sums of money and can only be achieved by everyone chipping in for a great day and the Fete being a success. Not to mention a fabulous day out for our kids.
We need parents to donate goods and most of all their time on the day, volunteer sheets will be going home shortly and attached is a list of stalls that we need volunteer coordinators for (This means the initial set up on the day and to help get it start-ed) Please have a look below and think about what you can do on the day and let me or Leanne know.
Please ask your employer, husband, relative, a shop or restaurant you frequent to donate goods or services. Perhaps your child attends a club that would offer a free try out or lessons. Are you lucky enough to own a beach house that you would offer for a weekend? Auction items need to start being finalised.

Plant stall
Can you start potting up seedlings and cuttings in preparation? Do you have a herb garden that we can sell fresh herbs from on the day?
If anyone has access to and is willing to donate fruit or vegetables suitable for jams,
preserves or relishes could they please contact me. If you would be prepared to
make some of your own that would be even better, i can supply the jars. All batches
require a fill list of ingredients, and I will be doing all labelling. (these are for the school
fete)
We are seeking donations of Lemons and / or sugar (2kg bags) to help start the
making of our preserves and relishes for the school fete later on this year. If you can
