They are terrific role models for the students at the school and we are very proud of them. Senior Camp: Mr Davies and his team has finalised the plan for the Senior Camp this year. Our students will attend the Cascade Environmental Camp near Dorrigo on 6, 7 and 8 April. They will spend Friday 8 April at the Big Banana on their return. With the fundraising already completed, we expect this camp to be very cost-effective. During that time Mr Toby Davies will be Relieving Assistant Principal and I will be Relieving Principal. Miss Laura Simpson will be the relieving teacher on 1/2 B whilst I am up in the office. Swimming Carnival: Congratulations to the students who will be representing our school and the small schools at the Macleay Swimming Carnival on Wednesday. Students will need to find their own way to and from the pool and pay when they arrive. Students must wear school uniform. Uncle Greg and myself will be over at the pool supervising and helping out on the day. We wish them well with their swimming. Hats and uniforms: Last week every student in the school was given a new school hat. Students will be expected to wear their hat out in the playground during break times and have been asked to leave them at school so that they do not leave them at home or loose them. I would like to congratulate all the students who have returned to school this year. Their uniforms look fantastic. It is pleasing to look out over an assembly and see so many students wearing the full school uniform. Last week a member of the community stopped us at Melville High and commented on how lovely our uniform looked. Painting Country: Last Monday 20 students went to Melville High to the opening of “Painting Country” the exhibition ran all of last week and showcased murals painted by students all over the valley. Our Mural will also be displayed at Dunghutti Ngaku Gallery later in the year. I would like to congratulate the students who participated as their behaviour was exceptional.
