Marrambidya Wetlands Last Friday, 1/2 and 2/3 travelled to the Marrambidya wetlands in Wagga

Wagga. We took part in a number of activities learning about Wiradjuri

culture as well as our local wetland area. We looked at a number of

artworks made by local elders and learned about how these connected to

their country around them. We discovered that there is a number of

different plant and animal life surrounding the wetlands and enjoyed

drawing and writing about them. We all loved the humpies that were

created around the meeting area as these showed us how Wiradjuri

people lived and moved around their country.

Have you lost something

this term? Please come in and look in our lost property. We have

accumulated a lot of clothing that is unnamed. Please name

your child’s belongings so that we can return them when

they are found.

Any unclaimed lost property will be donated to St Vincents

de Paul at the end of the term.

DSM news

Considering this is the last newsletter for Term 3, time has flown by. Before we know it, Term 4 will be over, Christmas will be upon us, the removalist trucks will be in full swing and families will be travelling to their new locations and new families will be arriving in Wagga. In saying that, Kapooka Public School would like to say a warm farewell to two families that will be leaving us at the end of Term 3. Travel safely and enjoy your next adventure. Again, if there has been late notifications of postings, please let us know ASAP as I am in the process of organising our moving groups for next term. With Term 4 fast approaching, a reminder again, that the wearing of hats is compulsory. If the hat is forgotten, the children must play undercover, out of the sun. It is also a good idea to apply sunscreen in the morning for extra protection. For current families attending Kapooka Public School, who have preschool children ready to start Primary School, please remember to fill out the enrolment paperwork and give to Mrs Geale in the office. The earlier this is done the better, as we need to know our student numbers for next year. If you have children ready to start preschool, please go and see the lovely ladies there for enrolment packs or even to put your name on the waiting list, as Kapooka Preschool is in high demand. If you are travelling these holidays, please take care and stay safe. Have a wonderful and relaxing break and we will see you all after the holidays for a busy yet exciting term to end 2019.
