UPSR Results 2012
The UPSR 2012 results were released on Monday, 19 November
2012 and we are pleased to announce that 12 students from SR
Tenby Ipoh scored 5As this year. The school also achieved 100%
passes for 3 subjects, Bahasa Melayu (Penulisan), English and

New Academic Calendar 2013
Please take note of some changes to the calendar:-
1. End of Term for SR/SM Tenby changed from 20 July
2013 to 27 July 2013.
2. 25 Jan 2013 is a school holiday as it is a staff inset day.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused as we need to adjust
the calendar to accommodate the move of the schools to our new
site in Meru. The new calendar will be posted on our website soon.

The Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod
We are happy to announce that our school choir won the silver
prize for the youth mixed choir category in the 10th Malaysian
Choral Eisteddfod 2012 held on Saturday, 17 November 2012 at
the State Secretariat Hall in Jalan Panglima.
The competition was jointly organised by the Non-Islamic Affairs
Department of Perak, Perak Society of Performing Arts (PSPA)
and the Young Choral Academy. It was Tenby’s first time
competing against teams from across the country as well as from
Singapore. Our choir performed three songs; Both Sides Now by
Joni Mitchell, A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square and the
popular Malaysian patriotic song ‘Nyalakan Tekad’.

Green World Campaign
We are delighted to share the news that Tenby Schools Ipoh has
been chosen to be part of the Green World Campaign to share the
schools’ vision ‘A United World at Peace through Education’ with
the world.
The Green World Campaign founded by Mr Marc Ian Barasch in
2005 aims to combat climate change by adopting reforestation
projects and raise the living standards of the rural poor around the
world.
A presentation featuring our school’s choir was shown at a Green
World Campaign event in New York on Thursday, 6 December
2012 (6.30pm EST). Tenby Ipoh is now on the world map!

Results of Tenby’s Got Talent
Move over Taylor Swift, One Direction and Justin Bieber, Tenby’s
got many talents!
More than 400 guests turned up to support the 10 finalists of TgT
2.0 as they rocked the stage on Wednesday, 28 November 2012 at
the Tropicana Grand Ballroom.
Foo Hoong Ming was crowned winner of this year TgT with his
stunning and smooth dance moves. Eric Lam was awarded first
runner up with his soulful rendition of current hits; ‘Ni Bu Ji Dao
De Shi’ by Leehom, I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, ‘Wo De Ge Sheng
Li’ by Qu Wanting and The Climb by Miley Cyrus. Charlotte Ooi,
scored the third prize with her performance of the song Rolling in
the Deep by Adele. The two consolation prizes went to Jaycharan
and the all-girls band, Underlined Bold.
We would like to thank the judges, Mr David Chu, Ms Yeoh Choo
Swee and Mr Xavier Fong for their support, Mr Kenneth Lim and
his team of organizers, guest performers Mr Nicholas Tan, Ms
Eunice, Mr Kareem and Mr Nasyim (TgT1.0 winner), student and
teacher volunteers, parents and staff of Tenby and lastly, all the
remarkable participants of Tenby’s got Talent 2012!

Christmas Celebration at Tenby
Ho Ho Ho and a jolly good Christmas at Tenby!
On 30 November 2012, a special assembly was held at the
basketball court to celebrate the joyous Christmas season. A
programme of songs and dance performances was lined up to foster
the spirit of Christmas among students and teachers of Tenby.
The Speech and Drama club staged a short sketch alongside the
school choir’s rendition of popular Christmas carols. The Junior
Dance Club members performed a special Christmas Gangnam
Style dance with students and teachers joining in to dance to the hit
song.
Pn Fetimah, our canteen lady also prepared a special candy corner
for the students at the school canteen. Chocolates, jellies and
various sugar coated candies were displayed on tables decorated
with beautiful Christmas decorations and later distributed to the
students.
There will be another Christmas programme on Wednesday, 12
December 2012 with Santa Clause making a special appearance at
the school. Also, donations collected during the Movember
donation drive will be presented to a representative of the Perak
Palliative Care Society during the assembly.

Captain’s Ball Tournament
Tenby’s PE Department hosted a Captain’s Ball Tournament for
KBSR and International Junior students on 21 November 2012 to
23 November 2012. Students cheered for their teams as they battled
it out to be Tenby’s Captain’s Ball Champion. Team Mars emerged
as winner of this year’s tournament, followed by Team Jupiter,
Team Mercury and Team Neptune. Congratulations to all the
winners!

U15 Boys and Girls Football Fixture at ELC
International School Cyberjaya
On Tuesday, 27 November 2012 Tenby’s U15 boys and girls
football teams took part in a friendly football tournament organized
by ELC International School Cyberjaya. We are happy to announce
that our teams won both matches, 12-1 for the U15 boys’ match
and 9-2 for the U15 girls’ match.

Championship
Last weekend (30 November 2012 – 2 December 2012), our
school’s U16 basketball team participated in Tenby Schools
Penang 1st International Basketball Tournament.
Although our team did not win the tournament, they have gained
invaluable experience and knowledge playing against more
experienced teams ie Presbyterian High School Singapore.

School Uniform: A Clarification
Recently, with the introduction of the new school diary there was
some confusion over the rules on school uniform. According to our
Parent-Student Handbook the rules for school uniform for Tenby
Schools Ipoh are as follows:-
Girls: Grey Skirts or Skorts and blue shirt with the school logo (For
Secondary girls, there is a new option of trousers to be worn with
the blue shirt).
Boys: Grey trousers and blue shirt with the school logo
Socks: White
Shoes: Black

Parents’ Evening for Year 11
The Parents’ Evening for Year 11 will be held on Tuesday, 11
December 2012. Details of the evening are as follows:-

Year 11 students will be given their reports and answer scripts on
Monday 10 December 2012 and parents will have the
opportunity of discussing their children’s progress and
performance during this evening. Parents are encouraged to bring
the scripts during the evening if necessary.
iSPCA Festival 2012
iSPCA Ipoh will be organizing a food and fun fair on
Saturday, 16 December 2012 from 9.00am to 2.00pm at the
Festival Walk, Ipoh.
