Two weeks ago the Year 6/7s took a 10 hour trip to

Nepabunna in the Adnyamathanha community in the

Northern Flinders Ranges. We enjoyed many fun activities

outside such as sleeping under the stars, having a

campfire, cleaning up the community, seeing ancient sites

and went to places like the Waterhole. It was an

educational and meaningful experience for us and it

helped us learn more about their history.

We would like to give a huge thank you to Steven and Rick

for joining us! Here are some words from the group who went:

“It was very interesting when we went out with Duncan and he told us about Nepabunna and the

Teddy Bear Tree.’’-Roma.

“Some of the animals I saw were Dogs, Kangaroos, Goats, Sheep, Emus and

Eagles.” -Ned.

“It goes from wet green scenery to dry brown land with dead bushes.’’

-Cameron.

“ I enjoyed sitting around the campfire listening to

stories and sleeping under the stars .’’-Emily

“Spending time with students and staff out of the

school environment and working together”-Amie.

“I made a huge connection to the girls in my dorm like how we shared

stories and said goodnight, which helped me build relationships and

trust.’’-Sophia.

“I loved all the delicious home cooked

goodies that parents supplied also the help I got from students in

the kitchen even if it wasn’t their kitchen duty time.” -Bill.

“What a wonderful learning experience

surrounded by our amazing Australian

environment.” -Sonia .
