Congratulations to Sarah McFadden who successfully passed her MSc Oral Thesis Examination on Thursday,

June 6th. Thesis title: Fine-scale Ground Surface Vertical Displacement and Soil Water Processes in the

Canadian High Arctic. Supervisor: Dr. Scott Lamoureux.

A sincere thank you goes out to the office staff who set up the Reception for our graduates following our

Convocation ceremony on Tuesday, June 4th. Thank you also to members of the faculty who took part in this

important day for our graduates! See a series of photos from the day at the end of this newsletter. A huge thank

you to Jo-Anne Tinlin for most of the photos you will see!

An Invitation from the Board

According to archival records, the University Club (then called the Faculty Club) was founded in 1949. It

moved to its present location in 1966, and celebrated the opening of the addition in 1969. The Board is seeking

a Club member to write a history of the University Club at Queen’s. The Board is willing to pay for the hiring

of a work/study student for one term, to assist with archival work and/or interviewing members and staff. If

you are interested in this project, please contact Board President Christine Overall (cdo@queensu.ca).
