Class V- B conducted a special assembly on Mother’s
Day on 5 May 2016, with a special prayer and a special
poem for all mothers. The students presented graceful
dance and song expressing gratitude for their loving
and caring mothers. Students from Pre Nursery to
Class V made beautiful Mother’s Day cards with
special messages.
Inaugural Of Sports Complex Krirangan
Ms. JwalaGutta, the International left-handed
badminton championed Smt. Draupadi Devi
Jhunjhunwala inaugurated the Sports Complex
Krirangan at Delhi Public School Tapi on Friday,
6 May 2016. The programme included the
felicitation of dignitaries, lighting of
Vidyadeepam and a melodious song and dance
performance presenting a fusion of cultural and
physical activities. The Chief Guest, Ms.
JwalaGutta and the Principal, Dr. Sanjukta
Sivakumar addressed the guests on the crucial
need to integrate physical education with

English Handwriting Week
Good handwriting builds confidence and
legible handwriting is a crucial exam skill.
Primary Level students took part in the English
Handwriting Workshop conducted by their
teachers from 20 June to 1 July 2016. They
had an hour of daily practice for the two weeks
to improve their handwriting before
commencing regular practice in handwriting

International Yoga Day
Field Trip to Green House
Classes VII and VIII went on an
experiential learning trip on 22 June
2016 to a local Green House. They
learnt about Gerbera flowers and
ginger cultivation, with attendance
information on chemical-vs-organic
pesticides and fertilizers, irrigation,
labour, profits, transport and
marketing. It was an integrated
project involving English, Math,
Science and Social Science.
“Yoga is the journey of the
self, through the self, to the
self”. The 2nd International
Yoga Day was celebrated at
DPS Tapi on 21 June 2016. To
mark this day, the students
from Pre-Primary, Primary and
Secondary levels practiced
different yoga asanas broadcast
by the Gujarat Government.
Yoga is a mental, physical and
spiritual practice that our
students perform every day.

DPS Tapi Awards Ceremony 2015-16
The Award Ceremony on Tuesday, 28 June
2016 saw Achievers from Pre-Nursery to Class
X receiving prizes, medals and certificates in
various academic and co- curricular categories
for the Academic Session 2015-16.The
Principal, Dr. Sanjukta Sivakumar emphasized
participation over winning in all events.
Adolescent Health Workshops
Select students from DPS Tapi attended an Adolescence
Workshop on 2 July 2016conducted by Rotary Club,
Surat. Specialist doctors and lecturers imparted
knowledge about adolescence. These DPST students
conducted follow-up workshops at school for Classes
VIII-X on 18 July 2016 on balanced diet, exercise,
healthy relationships, and on substance abuse and sexual
abuse. These workshops provided students with
extensive awareness and also a platform for sharing
information.

Id-ul-Fitr
Eid marks the end of Ramzan and is the most
popular festival in the Islamic calendar. Class IV-
B celebrated Eid with a special assembly on 5
July 2016 presenting prayers, song and a
spectacular dance on this festival. Students from
Pre-Nursery to Class II wore Eid Dress on this
day and made speeches on the importance of
