Tagungsort: The Old Country Inn, Unionville, ON. Ein kostenfreies Mittagessen (Gulyas) wird allen unseren Mitgliedern angeboten.Diese Versammlung ist NUR Mitgliedern zugänglich. Sollten Sie nicht ein Mitglied sein und Sie möchten gerne teilnehmen ist das kein Problem. Bitte kommen Sie! Sie können an der Kasse beim Eintritt den Mitgliedsbeitrag bezahlen. Wir heissen Sie herzlichst willkommen. Das ist ein Wahljahr und demnach ist es besonders empfehlenswert an der Versammlung teilzunehmen.Mitgliedsbeiträge für das Jahr 2016
Wie in früheren Jahren werden die Beiträge für den Klub und für die Zeitung aus Österreich gemeinsam behoben. Der Betrag für die Zeitung der Burgenländischen Gemeinschaft wird danach von Eva Hergovich, der Repräsentantin der Burgenländischen Gemeinschaft in Kanada, persönlich an das Büro in Güssing weitergeleitet.

NEWS FROM OUR COMMUNITY / NEUES AUS UNSERER GEMEINSCHAFT
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the new Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Ottawa, Mr. Bernhard Faustenhammer. We wish him a great start in his new surroundings and we are looking forward to meeting him at one of our functions. With great delight we report on celebrations of octogenarians in our midst. Adolf Graf, Treasurer/Membership Convenor of our Club, celebrated his 80th birthday on January 12th, 2016. Adolf is a native of Jabing and married to Helga for more than 50 years. Helga was also a board member for many years. Adolf and Helga are blessed with three children and two grandchildren. They had a vibrant party at Peter’s place (their oldest son with his wife Kris) with family and friends. Adolf has been involved in Club activities for more than twenty years. His financial statements are impeccable and his devotion to the cause can barely be surpassed. Thank you Adolf! Congratulations on having reached this milestone! We wish you many more happy and healthy years with your loved ones. Hoch soll er leben, hoch soll er leben, dreimal so hoch. Kinder, die hat er … Mary Kuzmich, widow of the late John Kuzmich, celebrated her 80th birthday on December 8, 2015. Her family surprised her with a party that was well attended. Mary and her late husband John who was a board member for many years, were the proud parents of six
children and nine grandchildren. They are Mary’s pride and joy. Mary, originally from Wulkaprodersdorf, is one of the pillars of the Club. Whenever the need arises, Mary is there to help and we love her for it. She attends as many functions as she possible can and some of her children are also involved (her son Glenn was on the Board for a number of years, her daughter Andrea always helps out at the Picnic.) SADLY, WE HAVE LOST DEAR FRIENDS …
Christine Meyer, former long time President of the Canadian-Austrian Society, passed away on Nov. 29, 2015 in Salzburg, Austria. Christine was truly committed to promoting Austrian culture within Canada and did so very effectively. She will be sincerely missed.
Fred Reisch died on December 18, 2015 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Fred was active in community work and dedicated his retirement years to the Austrian Continental Club in Burlington, ON, where he served as President for the past five years. Fred will be truly missed by his family and by all members of the Club.
Lydia Schattovits, wife of Toni Schattovits of Kroatisch-Minihof, died on Oct. 1, 2015. The Schattovits family was at one time very much involved in activities of the Burgenländer Club. Toni played the accordion and we enjoyed his entertainment. Lydia was always at his side. She will be missed by family and friends.
