(1) CALL FOR STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT VOLUNTEER Sign up for research assistant volunteer work and learn the ins and outs of nursing research! The School of Nursing is launching its inaugural volunteer work opportunity where nursing students, undergraduate and graduate, can gain real life action experience of conducting nursing research studies. All you need to do is sign up with Christine Maheu ([email protected]), associate professor at the School of Nursing who will find you a suitable mentor amongst the faculty at the School of Nurs-ing. This mentor will provide you guidance on how to become an efficient research assistant. This is a wonderful opportunity to add to your work Curriculum Vitae. Volunteer work can be organized according to your availability. It can be as intense as a few times per week over many months or only a few days a year. There is always the possibility that your volun-teer work may lead to part time research assistant work. Come and show your skills and initiatives by joining now. Please do let us know how much time you would have available for volunteer work as research assistant.

(2) FGS Summer 2009 Research Initiative The Faculty of Graduate Studies would like your assistance in identifying research opportunities for graduate students this summer 2009. This will enable FGS to link qualified and eligible graduate stu-dents with researchers across campus. This research provides invaluable experience by solidifying graduate networking opportunities, promoting research, and contributes to the development of our students’ interdisciplinary skills. Through this initiative, FGS will financially supplement and match researcher funds for eligible stu-dents, thereby extending research contributions and experiences to the rest of the York community. For further information, please contact Salvatore Paneduro, Graduate Funding Liaison, Faculty of Graduate Studies. (3) If you would like to submit any publication announcements, abstract announcements, awards, media release notices or articles of interest please send the complete information in APA format to Chris-tine Maheu at [email protected].
