Bucket HatsDuring Term 1 and 4, all students must have a school bucket hat. These are available for purchase at the School Office.
AbsencesIf your child is going to absent for the day, or part of the day, you can log their absence through our school app.Children absent with no explanation with be coded as ‘truant’, as required by the MoE.
Newsletters and notices are pushed out through our school app. You will find the school calendar, term dates, newsletters and useful links all in the one place.

PE
Mathematics﹡ We are currently focussing on building the
childrens’ number knowledge. ﹡﹡ We will be introducing problem solving groups
over the term.
Literacy﹡ We do literacy from 11-12:40.﹡ We begin with phonics. ﹡ Some children go to STEPs.﹡ We cover both reading and writing during this time.﹡ We have 4 teachers working in the studio for
groups for literacy - Bindy/JA join us for the block.﹡ Our library day is Thursday. Children are
encouraged to have a library book at home for nightly reading and one for school for quiet reading.
Concept Curriculum
Our theme for the term is ‘What Lies Beneath.’
We will be doing a range of activities and learning related to this throughout the
term.
PE and SportsWe have begun the term with kiwiball taught by Marcus from Sport Auckland.We will be doing team building games next.
Over the year there will be a range of sporting activities available to middle schoolers eg netball, flippaball, touch. Keep an eye out for notices about upcoming opportunities.
Home Learning● The expectation around home learning this
year is that your child reads at home and works on basic facts.
● Your child will being home library books from school, those on the colour wheel will bring books home.
● We will send home instructions on how to access a home learning google classroom for those of you who want support.
