Please do not allow them to run or wander freely by them- selves. I am very thankful that we have a safe environment for our students, but they still need adult supervision. I appreciate your cooperation and help. Alexis Seymore DSHS FEA Participants On October 26 the Dawson Springs chapter of FEA (Future Educators of America) went to Murray State to a regional conference and competition. Some of the students chose to compete in an array of 5 different categories. Forrest Winters and Whitney Copeland placed first in public service announce- ment. They designed, created, edited a television commercial for television, they developed this in their multi-media class. Alyssa Reece placed first in impromptu speaking. She was given a topic and had to give a speech without any preparation. FRYSC Food Drive A total of 3,185 non-perishable food items were collected by our students to benefit our community. The food drive winners were: K-6 ~2nd Grade , collecting 350 items and in grades 7-12 ~Seniors with 1,089 items! Street Heat/DARE Graduation The 4th & 5th Grade classes will be attending Street Heat at MCC on the morn- ing of December 8th. On the same date, the 5th Grade will have their DARE graduation ceremony with Deputy Punkin at 1:30 pm in the lunchroom. Parents are encouraged to attend the graduation. 4-H NEWS The Hopkins County Extension office spon- sors a 4th grade 4H club. Sherri Friend comes once a month and they are learning about parliamentary procedure. Newly elected officers for Mrs. Brantley’s class are: Slade Ramsey-President, Ethan Stuart-Vice President, Dalton Simons-Secretary, Zoe Howton-Reporter, Denisha Randolph- Treasurer, & Jalynn Hooper-Game Leader. A Halloween fundraiser was held to benefit the Back to School Bash. Students and staff in Grades K-12 paid $1.00 to wear a costume to school on October 31 st , $257.00 was raised. As we once again begin basketball season,

we ask that you please supervise your young

children at basketball games. Please do not

allow them to run or wander freely by them-

selves. I am very thankful that we have a

safe environment for our students, but they

still need adult supervision. I appreciate

your cooperation and help.

DSHS FEA Participants

On October 26 the Dawson Springs

chapter of FEA (Future Educators of

America) went to Murray State to a regional

students chose to compete in an array of 5

ment. They designed, created, edited a

television commercial for television, they

developed this in their multi-media class.

give a speech without any preparation.

FRYSC Food Drive

A total of 3,185 non-perishable food items

were collected by our students to benefit our

community. The food drive winners were:

K-6 ~2nd Grade , collecting 350 items and

in grades 7-12 ~Seniors with 1,089 items!

Street Heat/DARE Graduation

The 4th & 5th Grade classes will be

attending Street Heat at MCC on the morn-

ing of December 8th. On the same date, the

5th Grade will have their DARE graduation

ceremony with Deputy Punkin at 1:30 pm in

the lunchroom. Parents are encouraged to

attend the graduation.

4-H NEWS

The Hopkins County Extension office spon-

sors a 4th grade 4H club. Sherri Friend

comes once a month and they are learning

about parliamentary procedure. Newly
