Dear Parents and Carers Assembly - Well done to Room 9 and 12 this morning on a fantastic item - the students displayed great energy and enthusiasm as they danced and sang to several ‘golden oldies’. Coding Club - Mr Carlé has introduced a lunchtime Coding Club for students in Years 4 to 6. The Coding Club will focus on coding resources that were recently given to all schools by the State Government. The students are currently working with two robots called Dash and Dot, on a Monday and Wednesday. The students have been exploring over the past two weeks how to code and program the robots. The students have been really enthusiastic and have enjoyed the two sessions a week. Each child in year 4 to 6 had the opportunity to ap-ply for the club based on an application form.
School Development Day - On Friday 2nd June the staff will be looking at Brightpath, which is a moderation tool for writing, reviewing the ICT scope and sequence and doing a workshop on the Health and Physical Education Syllabus. Please note that the first day of term 3, Monday 17th July is not a pupil free day. We wish families a wonderful extended long weekend, including Monday 5th June ‘WA Day’. We look forward to seeing the students back Tuesday 6th June refreshed, ready to take on the last 4 weeks of term. Linda Humphreys Principal

SCHOOL VALUE
The next value is Co-operation
Co-operation is about getting along with others and working with them in a thoughtful and considerate way. Co-operation is about unity and harmony. It is about doing and achieving things with the help of other people. Co-operation is very important in your classroom. You need to listen when others are speaking and raise your hand when you want to talk. Co-operation creates a happy feeling when everyone in the family tries to get along and work together, there is happiness in the family. The more we learn to co-operate the easier it is to reach our goals. If you are willing to work with others and you keep a positive attitude, people will want to cooperate and work with you.

Library News.
Time seems to have flown by. We cannot believe it is nearly the middle of the year. Our displays for this term are: Wombat Stew, West Australian Young Readers' Book Awards, Western Australia Day, Animals in War. We have now purchased the WAYRBA books. The books are selected from a shortlist and nominated for awards. The theme for this year is ‘Reading is a Blast!’ We would like to thank the P & C for enabling us to purchase these outstanding books. We have some nice bright tables in the library and new seats. With the help of some volunteers last year who helped paint the library, it is now looking much brighter. There are plenty of things to do in the library and we would love some help to cover our new books, even if just for an hour. Otherwise just pop in for a visit to say hello and see our new furniture!
Book club - On Tuesday 30/05/17 students was given Scholastic Book club Issue 4. This issue must be returned by Wednesday 7/06/17. There is a LOOP page on the scholastic website if you would like to order on line www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP. Your order will be electronically linked when you order and pay by LOOP.
We hope to see you soon! Janice and Gillian Library Officers

Look at some of our great ‘Jumpers’ who
participated in Jump Rope For Heart.
Last week our Senior Choir performed at the
Melville Singfest and they performed ‘Lanterns’ by Birds of Tokyo.
Bryce did a great job of introducing the Choir and they performed well. While we were the smallest choir at the festival we had no trouble filling the room with our beautiful voices. It was fun to be on stage and work together as a team. Ms McBain, Music Teacher.
