GETTING STARTED ACCESS
Registration 1. Go to www.myenglishlab.com/nextgenerationgrammar.
2. Click “Register.”
3. Enter the “Next Generation Grammar” access code. Click “Next.” (Instructor will receive access code from
local sales rep. Contact your local sales rep at www.pearsoneltusa.com/findyourrep) 4. Confirm product information. Click “Next.”
I. FIRST TIME USERS
a. Click “Create” under “Create an Account.”
b. Select the box next to the statement “I agree to the license agreement” and click “Next.”
c. Enter your “Email Address, First or Given Name, Last Name or Surname, and Institution.”
d. Create a Username and Password. Confirm password. Click “Next.”
e. Review your information. Click “Finish.”
f. Under your confirmation, click “Go to your Product” to begin working in your course.
g. On your Settings page under Personal Information, select your “Country,” “Time Zone” and
“Native Language.” Click “Save.” II. RETURNING USERS
a. Under “Sign In,” enter your Username and Password and click “Sign In.”
b. Check your information and click “Finish.”
c. Click “Go to Product” to set up your course.

Create Your Course (If you are already logged in, skip steps 1-3)
1. Go to www.myenglishlab.com/nextgenerationgrammar.
2. Click “Login.”
3. Enter your Username and Password and click “Sign In.”
4. Click the “Settings” tab.
5. Click “Create a new course.”
6. Enter Course Name and Course End Date. Select product and level from drop down list.
7. Create a Course Name and select a product from the “Product” drop down list.
8. Click “Create Course.”
9. Note your Course ID (Ex. xjLit4-figut). Share the Course ID with students wishing to join your
course. Then click “Confirm.”

Login Anywhere/ Anytime 1. Go to www.myenglishlab.com/nextgenerationgrammar.
2. Click “Login.”
3. Enter your username and password.
4. Click the course you want to work in and begin work.

Steps for Your Students to Enroll in Your Course To begin these steps the student must first register their access code. See steps under “General Registration.”
1. Go to www.myenglishlab.com/nextgenerationgrammar.
2. Click “Login.”
3. Have your student enter their username and password and click “Sign In.”
4. Click “Settings” tab.
5. Click “My Courses”
6. Click “Join a Course”
7. Enter the “Course ID” (Ex. nj7j-ukct-mqxg) provided by the Instructor.
8. Click “OK.”
9. Click “Homepage” tab to enter course.

NAVIGATION
HOME Tab
1-Top Navigation Bar
English-Convert instructions and directions into one of the 16 available languages. Help-Link to MyEnglishLab online teacher support. Navigate between the HOME/COURSE/GRADEBOOK/MESSAGES/SETTINGS tabs. *English, Help, Sign out, and Tabs are accessible from anywhere in the site.
2-Courses
Displays running list of available courses. Click “View all courses” for full list of available courses.
3-Assignments & Events:
To Do List-Displays a running list on upcoming activities or events.
o Showing:-Choose whether to view Everything, General events, or Course events, drop down list
o In:-Select to view the calendar for all courses or a particular course. Calendar-Displays scheduled activities and events in a calendar.
Recent Activity-Displays recent and completed activities or events.

COURSE Tab
1-UNITS Select course by choosing from the “Change course:” drop down list.
Manage unit selections with the Hide/Show capability. Select E-Text icon to access e-text content. (See pages 11-12 for E-Text Walkthrough)

Manage lessons, exercises, and activities selections with the Hide/Show capability.
Assign/ Assign again o Click “Assign” to assign additional practice or tests to the class or individuals.
o Click “Assign again” to re-assign practice or tests to the class or individuals. o Assessment must be assigned for students to gain access to the assessments.
*Student view o Select the “Student view” button to view how students see their program.

GRADEBOOK
1-Gradebook
Select a course from the “Change course:” drop down list to review Data and Diagnostics. Review data by selecting the Unit, Chapter, Sub-section, Activity, or Assessment. Select the left double arrow for an extended view of students data.
Export class or individual student data to XML, Excel, and Moodle applications.
2-Data Tab Change view to preview data by: Assignments and Tests; Assignments only; Tests only;
Practice and Tests; Practice only.
Display data within each view by First Attempt, Last Attempt, Average Score, and Highest Score.
Select individual students name to review individual data.
Data Categories Student- Sort/ View student data by last name. Completed- Sort/ View completed data by number of activities completed by each student.
Score- Sort/ View scores by grade point average received on completed activities. Grade- Sort/ View by letter grade received (letter grade corresponds to grade point average).
Attempts- Sort/ View by number of attempts on activities. Time on Activity- Sort/ View by time on activity.

GRADEBOOK (Cont.)
3- Diagnostics Tab Track progress through intuitive charts by student, time, score, skill, attempt, and sub-
section.
o Time/Student-Shows the time each student has spent on tasks in the course. o Score/Skill-Shows the average score for each skill in this area.
o Time/Sub-section-Shows the amount of time that has been spent in this area. o Score/Student-Shows the score for each student in a particular area. o Attempt/Score-Shows the average number of attempts and score.
4-Export/ Student Management
Manage class roster with Student Management link.

Messages
1-New message Compose electronic mail messages with individual students or the entire class.
2-Inbox Manage, view, and respond to all electronic mail messages.
