Next Meeting Wednesday, June 5, at Roosevelt Grove, North Park

Board Meeting 7:00 pm, General Meeting 7:30 pm

Greetings Pony Lovers –

This year’s Spring Stampede tour was a huge success. The weather cooperated, the stops were great, the back roads superb, and the company unrivaled. Kudos to Tim for a won-derful day.

Can-Am registrations are still proceeding rather slowly. Please register now to make it easier for Mary. On top of handling all our new members, she’s also in charge of registra-tions for our All Ford-Powered Show, Can-Am and the Yellow Mustang Registry rally that’s being held in Pgh during the PVGP. So in June she’s going to be very busy. Can-Am registra-tion is only $10/person, which gets each per-son a jacket patch, each Mustang a dash plaque (see picture below,) and reduced cost for Saturday evening dinner at the North Park Lounge in Cranberry.

WE STILL NEED CAN-AM VOLUNTEERS!

Many of you signed up at the last meeting to help out on Can-Am weekend – Thanks! We’ll need as many hands on deck as we can get, especially Friday evening and Saturday. We’ll continue to circulate a signup sheet at the June & July meetings.

The next meeting of the Marque of the Year Committee is May 28th. As of May 14th there are 89 Mustang owners registered for Race Weekend in Schenley Park. Now’s the time to register online at http://www.pvgp.org/Mustang for all PVGP activities in which you’d

like to participate. The basic $30 registration fee includes parking all weekend on the Mar-que-of-the-Year show field in Schenley Park, plus an owner’s bag with dash plaque and show book.

Ed has completed most of the planning for our 15th All Ford-Powered Show on June 23rd. A link to the flyer/registration form is available on page 4. If you’re planning on bringing your Mustang, please be sure to register well in ad-vance.

We had another capacity-bursting turnout at our May meeting. On June 5th we’ll be outdoors at the Roosevelt Grove in North Park. For new members, directions are available on our web-site at:

(Class A for wood, paper & plastic fires, Class B for fuel-based fires, and Class C for electrical fires) from Specialty Equipment Market Assn. (SEMA). All vehicles should have a class B or C extinguisher. SEMA is also supporting legislation to halt the sale

of E-15 gasoline.

Regarding the Mustang 50h Birthday Celebration, the registration and additional information are on hold pending sign-ing contracts with the race tracks. - “A slower start than we anticipated.” 15th All Ford-Powered Show - Sunday June 23, 2013 will be held at Shults Ford in Harmarville. A Worker Sign-up Sheet was distributed – tentative assignments are in red. GPMC registrants should park immediately upon entering to right, and then go to registration area. The May issue of Mustang Times has an article about the 2013 PGVP and the Mustang as Marque of the Year. As a special attraction, on Saturday, July 20th, you can take a lap on the Schenley Park track in an authentic vintage sports car – starts at noon, but you have to get in line early – fee of $40 goes to their char-ity.

Ken reported the last meeting with Jerry L. was on Apr. 23 in Schenley Park. We have been assured we won’t lose our Patron Parking spots by diverting the money to run an ad in the PVGP Race Book, as approved at our last meeting. Regarding the Black Tie & Tailpipes dinner, we will not be attending because of lack of interest. A volunteer sign-up sheet was passed around.

Regarding Can-Am, for our new members and guests, Ken explained that Can-Am (celebrating its 20th Anniversary) consists of five Mustang clubs – GPMC, Lake Erie Mustang Owners’ Club (LEMOC), Mahoning Valley Mustang Club (MVMC), Niagara Classic

Mustang Club (NCMC – Ontario), and Northeastern Ohio Mustang Club (NEOMC – Akron) and each holds a yearly rotating Can-

Am. We switched with Niagara to hold the Can-Am here in conjunction with the PVGP. To date 13 people registered. Forms are available at the meeting and can be printed from our Members’ only website page. Registration fee is $10/person and

$17/person for dinner. Members must register to attend. July 1 is the end of registration. We need volunteers to help for Fri-day evening at the hotel and at Starlite, Saturday night dinner (door prizes, etc.), and with the convoy to Schenley Park. Din-

ner will be at the North Park Deckhouse ($17/person), and the club will pick up the tax and gratuity. We have guaranteed at least 60 in attendance. A sign-up sheet will be passed around at the next meeting. Ken mentioned 15 rooms have been

booked at the hotel, so he expanded the block to 25 rooms.

Old Business: The GPMC generic business cards are available.

New Business: Ken stated the North Hills Historic Auto Club will hold its annual Antique & Classic Car Show on June 2 at Mars High School. Registration for all show vehicles - $5 per car. Dave M. said there will be PVGP cruise on Tuesday, July 16 at the

Steak ‘n Shake-Homestead Waterfront, cost $5. Dwight discussed the PVGP downtown parade/display on July 17, hopefully

with 16-20 Mustangs, and a few cars will show at several points -- USS Tower, PPG Place, Market Square, and Point State Park.

Other: Bob K. won the 50/50. Next meeting is on Wed., June 5, Roosevelt Grove, North Park. The July meeting will be held on Wed., July 10 because the July 4th holiday falls on Thursday. As a reminder, our Hospitality Picnic will be held on Sunday,

August 4 at Monroeville Community Park.

Adjournment: It was moved by Jeff B. and 2nd by Mike D. to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
