WHAT DOES PRODUCT CERTIFICATION MEAN?

● For the first time, manufacturers can use the NFC Forum Certification Program to test and verify the performance of all key components of the NFC eco-system: handsets, readers and NFC tags.

● Tag manufacturers can certify the performance of their tags.

Tag certification demonstrates to customers, consumers and partners that a company values product quality and improved customer experience.

IoT-ready > NFC technology offers a simple, easy way for consumers and businesses to be connected. Embedding NFC in a product enables ongoing engagement with consumers.

All major smartphone operating systems support the NFC reader mode, expanding the market for tag manufacturers and application providers. The Tag Certification Program from the NFC Forum supports this expansion, innovation and new product design features and functionality.

Tag performance testing extends operating volume up to 60mm distance from reference marker (target has been a benchmark that it is difficult to achieve)

Testing verifies the Read performance of the compliant NFC Forum Tag within the performance operating volume with NFC Forum Pollers 0, 3 and 6

Tag performance is measured as the distance of the last plane that successfully passed according to the defined criteria (number of read points/patterns per plane).Measurement accuracy is 5mm.

Tag performance test report is confidential to the tag manufacturer
