New Horizon Public School celebrated its 3rd Founders’ Day on Saturday, 27th April 2019 in the school premises. Major dalbir Singh Sahab kindly consented to be the chief guest for the occasion. Retired IPS officer Mr. Ajay Raj Sharma Sir consented to be the Guest of honour for the evening.

Naqi, Hon’ble Chairman Sir New Horizon School Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed Siddiqui, Hon’ble Manager Sir Mr. Kamal Faruqui, Hon’ble Members Mr. Danish Kamal Faruqui and Mr. Mohd Sharique Ahmed graced the occasion with their benign presence. We are extremely grateful to all the Members present as it really boosted our morale.
The invocation was mesmerizing and created an aura of peace and harmony. Deputy Head Boy Yusuf Iqbal delivered the welcome address. All the dignitaries then laid the wreath on the Amar Jawan Jyoti. After paying tribute to our martyrs, junior girls of NHPS presented a dance ‘Swagatam’ which depicted the theme ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ to welcome all the esteemed guests present.
Headmistress New Horizon Public School Ms. Saiqa Rizwani read the Annual Report ‘The Rewind 2018-19’. This was followed by formal introduction of the Chief Guest by the Hon’ble Manager (NHS) Mr. Kamal Faruqui and the School Souvenir “NHPS Mirror” was released by all the dignitaries present. Hon’ble Chief Guest Major Dalbir Singh Sahab and Guest of Honour Mr. Ajay Raj Sharma Sir gave away the prizes to the academically meritorious students.

New Horizon Public School organised ‘The Investiture Ceremony 2019-20’ on May 15, 2019 in the school premises. 24 students have been chosen to represent the prefectorial team. Afsar Hussain of class VIII was inducted as the Head Boy and Aleena Parveen of class VIII was inducted as the Head Girl. Tehamee Ahsan of class VIII and Rashiya Tarannum Siddiqui of class VII were selected as the Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl respectively.

NHPS joined NHS in the Independence Day Celebration on August 14, 2019. The talented performers of NHPS presented a dance sequence depicting the life of Mangal Pandey. It was an awe-inspiring act. NHPS marching contingent also presented a well synchronized march past. The special feature was the Wreath offering ceremony presided by the Hon'ble Chief Guest Mr. Mohd Sharique Ahmed.
Abdul Kalam House Presented a special assembly on the occasion. The presentations though brief were commendable.
The Amar Jawan sthall was beautifully prepared by the art teacher Ms. Madhu and her creative team of Students.

On 22nd May, a special assembly was conducted on the International Biological Diversity Day. The main aim of this assembly was to increase understanding and spread awareness about the biodiversity issues. HT PACE organized a Movie Carnival exclusively for the Hindustan Times Newspaper Subscribers on July 23, 2019 at Delite Cinema, Daryaganj. Around 60 students watched the movie ‘The Lion King’ and enjoyed the movie carnival.
HT PACE conducted a workshop on Communication Skills for the students of Classes V to VIII on July 26, 2019 in the school premises. The Resource Person for the workshop was Ms. Rajkumari Tankha, a Senior Assistant Editor with The Morning Standard of The New Indian Express Group.
The NHPS Sub Junior Boy's Team has brought laurels to their Alma Mater by having won the Zonal Throwball Series 2019. On 19th August 2019 Our team entered the Semifinals and on 20th August 2019 the team NHPS won the Semifinals against B.R. Mehta School and then the Finals Against D.C. Arya School. We place on record the efforts made by our P.E.T. Mr. Sirajuddin for training these Young Champions.

HOW TO COPE WITH TENSION AND ANXIETY IN LIGHT OF ISLAM
Deworming Programme by the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of Education was held in the school on 8th August 2019 and the Mop up was held on 16th August 2019 to observe the National Deworming Day.
The Nodal Teacher Ms. Manju Taneja and the Science teacher Ms Uzma Ahmed together administered the tablet Abendazole 400mg to the students of classes Pre-Primary to Class VIII with the written consent of the parents.
