I came up with an idea that these books are going to be stereo typed at a mature teenage audience. This got me thinking how I was going to display the book. I chose to use materials and food that teenagers enjoy and get caught up with. I chose to use tactile typography because it looks more interesting and more realistic. These books are going to be displayed as a soft cover series because it’s a book that you read and then throw away.

I came up with the idea of cutting cigarettes and leaves for the title of the book JUST SHOCKING. I wanted the title to look filthy and bad like someone had just smoked the cigarettes and were going to smoke weed, as some might that its JUST SHOCKING. The background is dull to really make the title stand out and create the feel that the book is based around drug and smoking related short stories and peoples experiences. I also matched the orange filter on the cigarettes to match the spine of the book and the white bit of the cigarette to match the blurb on the back.

I decided that I wanted to make the title JUST TRICKING out of matchsticks and lollies because the those objects both tie into the title because heaps of teenagers play with fire growing up and lollies makes the book really inviting and appealing to readers. I choose brighter colours for this book because it has a range of stories that can also apply to younger teens. On both the spince of the book and blurb I used pink writting to match the musk stick lollie.

I came to the conclusion that I was going to cut out pineapple with a knife for the title of the book JUST CRAZY. My idea was to use a pineapple as the main point of the cover and for it to stand out. I also wanted it to be the healthiest object on the front cover and unhealthy foods behind it. The book was called JUST CRAZY so I wanted to make it look like a crazy teenagers room. I used a floor and placed McDonalds down cigarettes and just stuff that a messy teenager might have on the floor. I used a range of colours for this book because this books about crazy wacky stuff, so it needed to have a range of diffrent colours to draw in the readers attention and get the vibe that this book is about crazy stories. I also matched the yellow from the pinapple on the spine and blurb.
