ABOUT NIENKÄMPER

Hand-craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technology are combined to produce classic and timeless designs, which are the hallmark of Nienkämper furniture. Our manufacturing facilities, located in Toronto, has expanded dramatically since the company’s founding in 1968. Today, outstanding designs by renowned architects and designers are realized in our 120,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility producing furniture for shipment around the world.

Our proven track record is founded on classic and contemporary designs that work together, the highest standards in manufacturing, durability and ease of maintenance. Our capacity for exploring limitless possibilities, then presenting options customized to a client’s specific needs, has led to long-term relationships with major corporations, architects and interior designers. Time and again these clients have chosen Nienkämper as their standard.

Our manufacturing capabilities allow for exceptional quality, market-driven flexibility and delivery of unique sustainable product. As a design-based company we are dedicated to working with the best materials available and the world’s best designers. Nienkämper has developed manufacturing expertise that is unique in the industry, we combine traditional woodworking and upholstery techniques with the latest technology to produce furniture of lasting value.

OUR PRODUCTS

Our collection represents who we are as a company. From design through manufacturing and final delivery to our customers, they symbolize our efforts to bring enduring quality and innovation to life.

By designing products that can be modified to meet our customers’ needs, while at the same time manufacturing them using the most sustainable methods available, our furniture is often handed down from generation to generation, minimizing their carbon footprint. Our working philosophy of quality throughout each stage of the manufacturing process evidences pride of workmanship throughout our organization. Quality is an end result, judged at each step of the production process.

The continual development of new and ground-breaking designs has been a key stronghold for us. The ability of our skilled staff to adapt and modify products both in the design stage and during their actual production, while simultaneously using responsible environmental manufacturing methods, enhances our ability to deliver customized solutions; setting Nienkämper apart from many traditional furniture manufacturers.

Designed to work for all the different ways meetings are taking place—virtually, physically, and formally and informally. It is a product that embraces modern technology but is not dependent of it and the constant changes to it. The product was designed to be ‘technology neutral’ which we believe makes it more versatile and independent. The end-user decides which technology is right for them, letting design once again take the lead.

Since then Nienkämper’s ever expanding Vox® Collection has remained in the vanguard of design for the rooms in which people meet.

The Vox® Collection is now a family of brands that includes Vox® Conference, Vox® Office, Vox® Learning and Vox® Library. The product line has matured so that pieces from each brand can be combined to create flexible work environments in meeting spaces, learning spaces and private offices.

In today’s corporate offices, space is at a premium, Vox® Office takes advantage of every inch, and provides the user with the maximum amount of workspace. Features such as mobile pedestals and height adjustable project tables, allow for easy reconfiguration of the work environment, while the integrated cabinets easily hide any unwanted clutter and eliminate the need for coat racks or additional storage.

INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS

As a member of the Canada Green Building Council, Nienkämper has continued to focus on supporting LEED® principles, both in product design and manufacturing. To that end, we have achieved a number of third-party certifications.

In October 2008, Nienkämper’s ability to meet strict purchasing and tracking requirements enabled us to achieve Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification through the Rainforest Alliance®. This world-renowned certification permits us to produce FSC-certified wood and seating products that meet strict forestry management standards.

Greenguard®, a program that promotes healthy interior spaces by stringently identifyingand certifying products that meet low-level emission standards on over 10,000 chemicals, is also available on many Nienkämper designs.
