ABOUT Nina was always infatuated with music from her first
encounter with a toy piano as a two year old, to her first voice lesson at six, immediately followed by her first steps on to the musical theater stage at seven. Though her journey may have been destined to culminate in finding her voice as a songwriter, the road was shortened by a sudden move from New York City to the suburbs a few years ago, where she was faced with the struggles of being the new girl in town and the indignation of trying to fit in with mean girls and jealousy.
The collection of songs being released as an EP entitled "Try to Break Me" are the result of Nina's displacement, the leaving behind of friends and the bullying she was greeted with in her new town. Her hope is that the songs will be a kind of therapy for kids around the world, like the writing of them was for her.
