Gorgeous weather.

INT. AURL - TIMOTHY’S LAB - CONTINUOUS
TIMOTHY and ROGER are in front of a bank of computers. (NOTE: A double door ALA - DOUBLE WIDE MICROWAVE OVEN with a name plate reading “MOLECULAR EXPANDER” is next to a ten foot diameter ORANGE ELECTRIC PLUG in the wall. Roger is eating a breakfast granola bar.)
ROGER
Is that the plug for it?
TIMOTHY
That charges grandma’s wireless
Harley.
ROGERWhoa?
TIMOTHY
Dad has the coolest toys! (opening expander)
So, if we need your wireless hands-
free extender expanded? We just set
it for non-vertical/horizontal, and
. . .
Timothy places a three-inch used pencil in the molecular expander, setting its timer on “FAST”.
TIMOTHY (CONT’D)
Ta-da. You can even get certified!
A TWO FOOT LONG PENCIL
Timothy removes the now two foot long pencil from the expander, balancing it on his finger.

The best part is there’s no mass
differential.

Dare is pressing “TIMOTHY”.
MOLLY
(barks)
TIMOTHY
We need an algorithm for Jr. Space
Camp, please.
ROGER
It’s for hands-free safety systems
for my pre-school class!
MOLLY
(whine)
DARE
You better send it right away,
Timothy! We’re practicing for
eleven-mile!

Timothy knocks over a pencil cup sending pencils rolling across his desk.

Roger nibbles his breakfast bar.
TIMOTHY
I’m hurrying!
Timothy gathers the loose pencils. GURDEEP flashes on the bottom-right corner of Timothy’s screen.
TIMOTHY (CONT’D)
My dad!
ROGER ADMIRING MOLECULAR EXPANDER
Roger places the remaining one-inch piece of breakfast bar in the molecular expander. His eyes questioning the timer.
ROGER
Recess!

BASIA grazes.

And Paul, acting guilty, wants the
evidence suppressed! Why?
MARGARET

are the Cadettes going from

FREDERICK
So witnesses are leaving town
unexpectedly. Why?

FREDERICK

MOLLY

FREDERICK (O.S.)

He sets the gift box on the book counter and opens the gift card.

Steve offers the feather duster to Margi.

Steve enters data in his computer, his screen reveals he’s chatting with NANCY DREW. “I’M ATTENDING” pop up windows fill the screen.

Timothy and Roger sit in the dark gathered around the glow of Timothy’s myPad.
TWO USED SIZE “AA” BATTERIES
Roger is offering Timothy his used batteries. Timothy enters data.
TIMOTHY
We need more.
Roger offers Timothy half of a two foot long breakfast bar.
TIMOTHY (CONT’D)
That’s only fair.
The right lower corner of Timothy’s myPad screen flashes to show Mrs. Faeber’s Harley scooter.
EXT. DEEP SPACE - INTERGALACTIC FWY REST STOP - CONTINUOUS
MRS. FAEBER is chasing GURDEEP around her Harley Scooter.

Timothy’s myPad screen starts fading in and out. He’s posting a note to his student profile page: NEED BATTERIES!!!

STEVE (CONT'D)
Timothy and Roger hold their faces closer and closer to the myPad.
The myPad screen goes dark.
TIMOTHY (CONT’D)
No!!!
EXT. STEVE’S DRIVE-IN - DAY

A cloud floats over the fender fin.

Frederick is removing two batteries from his GameToy.
FREDERICK (CONT’D)

Frederick opens his desk drawer revealing dozens of batteries.

MARGARET
You forgetting our homework,
Detective Frederick? We know you

SENECA
And we still have to do Story Hour
homework! Hannah Gruen!

Frederick locks his battery drawer.

FREDERICK
You guys are just trying to trick

MARGARET
That would be the easiest homework
we ever had.
DARE
Can we just get our homework done?
PAUL
We have to.
FREDERICK
Here’s a clue. Mine’s done and you
can forget finding any batteries!
Next, suspect, Timothy!

SFX: SECOND RECESS BELL
SENECA
I’m calling an emergency Cadette
lunch meeting!
INT. AURL - TIMOTHY’S LAB - DAY
SFX: BEEP
Roger’s hand holds four used “AA” batteries and a square nine volt.
ROGER
This is all they had.
Timothy loads the “AA” batteries in his myPad.
NINE VOLT BATTERY
Timothy’s myPad lights up. He pushes the nine-volt battery back to Roger.
TIMOTHY
We can’t mess up! You know what to
do with this.
Timothy enters data in his computer, his screen revealing a live feed of Gurdeep and Mrs. Faeber.
EXT. DEEP SPACE - CONTINUOUS
Gurdeep and Mrs. Faeber are holding their thumbs out on the side of the Intergalactic Freeway.
SFX: WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH
A VW Bug, a flying saucer, a 1960’s station wagon, and an eighteen-wheeler whoosh past Gurdeep and Mrs. Faeber.

BACK TO TIMOTHY’S LAB
(NOTE: Paul appears on Timothy’s myPad screen. Next to the lab flat screen is a now giant nine-volt battery.)
SFX: MOTORCYCLE ENGINE STARTING
ALPHA lowers his helmet visor.
PAUL
My advice, Timothy?
Roger comes running past with his backpack, hops in the sidecar.
Alpha backs the space motorcycle into the Time Travel tube.
TIMOTHY
We had to run all calculations on
paper! We have to launch and get to
my dad!
PAUL
Your dad?
ROGER
And grandma?
Alpha and Roger trade salutes with each other and then Timothy.
PAUL
Just turn yourself in.
TIMOTHY
You have to reverse polarity!
SFX: WHOOSH ZOOM
Alpha, Roger, and the space motorcycle dematerialize.

The Cadettes are going racing;
Frederick’s waiting to question

MARGI

Timothy’s supposed to watch him,

batteries!

I’m at the feed store, darling,
I’ll pick some up.
DARE
Still, mom, he’s such a nincompoop!
INT. AURL - GURDEEP’S OFFICE - DAY
(NOTE: Paul shows on Timothy’s myPad screen.)
Timothy stands in front of Gurdeep’s desk, holding his myPad.
Gurdeep is tapping his fingers on his desk in front of the GROUNDED BUTTON.
PAUL
Don’t do it, sir!!!??? Please???
SFX: WHOOSH ZOOM
The office doors slide open revealing two lab security robots escorting Alpha, Roger, and Hannah to Gurdeep’s desk. (NOTE: Hannah is holding a mop and bucket, wearing a nineteenth century housekeeper dress and bandana.)
Hannah notices the room is a mess and glares at Gurdeep.
TIMOTHY
We were doing homework, dad??
Roger smiles, Alpha bobs his eyebrows.
PAUL
Sir!!! Crucial to our defense, sir,
it was really hard homework!
ROGER
The molecular expander, dad!

Gurdeep reacts with fear.
TIMOTHY
He’s certified now, dad??
PAUL
Oh, sir, for the love of school,
sir??? It’s my duty. It goes so
much deeper, sir???
TIMOTHY
Show him, Roger?
Roger approaches Gurdeep’s desk.
ROGER
In case you’re coloring!
Roger removes a baby bottle from his backpack.
TIMOTHY
It’s simple, dad??
Roger grabs Timothy’s myPad, velcro’ing it to the bottom of the baby bottle.
ROGER
For a little, kid.
PAUL
(chagrined, on the end of
the baby bottle)
We did our homework, sir?
SFX: WHOOSH

The office doors slide open to reveal Mrs. Faeber aboard the Harley electric scooter.
Hannah approaches Gurdeep scowling.
Gurdeep jostles uncomfortably in his chair.
ROGER
I’m certified, grandma!
TIMOTHY
We have to get to Story Hour, dad?
PAUL
Oh, sir! Please? Make a
ruling!!!??? He thinks he can go to
medical school!!!
TIMOTHY
He can!
MRS. FAEBER
Gurpy?
PAUL
Oh, sir, I study for moments like
this!
Hannah reaches in her apron, pulls a spinning basketball on her fingertip.
TIMOTHY
She’s really good, dad??
Alpha leaps atop the desk twirling a basketball on his fingertip.

PAUL
You better take him on your side,
sir? We’ll do more homework, right
away.
Mrs. Faeber and Hannah pinkie swear. Alpha tosses the ball for the dais, causing Gurdeep, Hannah, Mrs. Faeber, Alpha, Roger, and a lab robot to give chase.
TIMOTHY
We’re charging your Harley too,
grandma!
PAUL
Thank you, sir. Thank you.
TIMOTHY
(hushed to Paul)
I owe for an algorithm.
PAUL
You owe all your homework!
TIMOTHY
Thanks, dad!

Steve removes his bicycle helmet from the coat tree and turns off his computer.
Margi smiles.
