Program UFO Challenge is due this month. If you have completed a UFO for this
month, please see me for a ballet. Did anyone do a half square triangle Quilt
or table runner from last month. Please see me for a ballet, you may win a
prize.
Tip of the month. I will try to give a new tip each month and if you have any
to share please let me know. This month it is back stitching your borders or
stay stitch around 1/4 inch if it is pieced. This will prevent the borders from
coming unstitched when quilting. Just like sewing on a button, you make a
knot to keep it in place.
Tonight we will see different ways to put blocks together, (see hand out
sheet.) You do not have to follow the pattern because another layout might
look better. Remember how many ways a Log Cabin Quilt can be arranged.
Thanks Janet M

Library Report
Hello All,
At the November meeting I introduced nine new books for the library! They
are as follows,100 Modern Quilt Blocks by Tula Pink, Jelly Roll Bargello Quilts by Karen Hellaby, Kaffe Fassetts Quilts in Ireland, Kaffe Fassetts Quilts in Morocco, Merry Makers by Lissa Alexander, Animal Quilts by
Juliet van de Heyden, Silk Ribbon Embroidery by Di van Neikerk, Modern Quilt Blocks by Emily Dennis and a new pattern called Pickin Pumpkins.
I hope every one gets a chance to enjoy the new books and be inspired for a
future project!
Last month 11 books were overdue and 17 were signed out. Remember with
the new books try not to keep them too long so we all get a chance to see
them.
Currently I have three new patterns on order and I am sorting through some
patterns that Shirley Dunphy generously donated to our guild.
See you in December ,Merry Christmas!
Ann Grant
Community Quilts We had some generous donations of quilts at our last meeting. We have not had
any requests for quilts this month. Kathy Boone

In November I sent sympathy cards to Sue Hayden, Kathy Mayhew and Joan
Prosser. Also a thinking of you card to Lynn Tweedie. Linda

I have been doing a lot of machine quilting as of late. I found these new
cheater (self-threading) needles. My old ones have a slit in the top of the
needle and it would sometimes (OK, a lot of the time) shred my thread.
These work like a dream. Hide them knots!!
January 7th is our next meeting at 7 pm (NOT the FIRST MONDAY OF
MONTH)
