Vrndavan

In the beginning one should very regularly chantSri Gaurasundara’s holy name and then chant theholy name of Lord Nityananda. Thus one’s heartwill be cleansed of impure desires for materialenjoyment. Then one can approach Vrndavana toworship Lord Krishna. Unless one is favored byLord Caitanya and Nityananda, there is no need togo to Vrndavana, for unless one’s mind is purified,he cannot see Vrndavana, even if he goes there.Adi 8

When the rice thrown by NityanandaPrabhu touched His body, AdvaitaAcharya thought Himself purified by thetouch of remnants thrown byParamahamsa Nityananda. Therefore Hebegan dancing.Madhya 3.94

“I belong to a community of cowherdboys, and therefore I generally have manycowherd associates with Me. I am happywhen we eat together in a picnic like thisby the sandy bank of the river.”

Everyone was offered two earthenpots. In one was put chipped ricewith condensed milk, and in theother chipped rice with yogurt.

From each and every pot, Lord Nityananda Prabhu took one morsel of chipped rice and pushed it into the mouth of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as a joke. Sri Caitanya

Mahaprabhu, also smiling, took amorsel of food, pushed it into the mouthof Nityananda and laughed as He madeLord Nityananda eat it.

When all the Vaishnavas were chanting the holy names Hari, Hari and eating, they remembered how

Krishnaand Balarama ate with Theircompanions the cowherd boys on thebank of the Yamuna.

• Lord Nityananda made Raghava Panditasit down and had two pots delivered tohim also. There were two kinds of chippedrice soaked in them.

“No one can attain theshelter of Sri CaitanyaMahaprabhu without Yourmercy, but if You aremerciful, even the lowestof men can attain shelterat His lotus feet.”

“Raghunatha dasa’s standard ofmaterial happiness is equal to that of Indra, the King of heaven.”

Because of the mercy bestowed upon him by SriCaitanya Mahaprabhu, Raghunatha dasa,although situated in such material happiness,does not like it at all. Therefore let every one ofyou be merciful toward him and give him thebenediction that he may very soon attain shelterat the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

Lord NityanandaPrabhu calledRaghunatha dasanear Him, placed Hislotus feet uponRaghunatha dasa’shead, & spoke.

“One who experiences the fragrance ofthe lotus feet of Lord Krishna does notvalue even the standard of happinessavailable in Brahmaloka, the topmostplanet. And what to speak of heavenlyhappiness?”Antya 6.137

“My dear Raghunatha dasa since you arranged thefeast on the bank of the Ganges, Sri CaitanyaMahaprabhu came here just to show you His

mercy.”

Take those two men to My house and I willperform kirtana with them. I will give themtoday what is rarely accessible to even LordBrahma.

I will convert these two men into top classdevotees who will become famous all over theworld. I will change the opinions of those whoused to bathe in the holy waters of the Gangesafter they contacted Jagai and Madhai.

From now they willconsider that Jagaiand Madhai’sassociation is asgood as theassociation ofGangadevi herself.This wasNityananda’sdesire.Nityananda’spromise can nevergo in vain.
