Case Study “NME”By Jordan Alexander Simpson
NME
NME Magazine covers new music to the UK and also sometimes rock, which competes with my magazine as my magazine is to introduce new artists and bands.
NME also is a well known brand of music magazines as it is one of the largest in the UK
Facts
Target Audience:- There target audience is teens looking for new music and different artists and some mainstream artists too.

NME Cover Masthead:-
The NME masthead is in the top left of the magazine as we all read from top to bottom and read left to right. Which is also a convention of a magazine cover.
Cover Lines:- Cover lines are another convention of magazine covers
as they are there to give information about stories inside the magazine.
Tag Line:- A tag line is the motto or a slogan for the magazine that
normally describes what the magazine is about.

most magazines as it is out of the way of all the stories on the main page.

most room as it allows the audience to see what and who this issue is about bringing a larger target audience.
NME Contents
Contents Title:- “NME This Week” The title does not have to say
contents it depends on the style of the magazine because depending on the target audience and the magazine “contents” may sound to formal.
Columns :- In the most magazine the contents page is
designed into columns to make it easier for the reader to find what they are looking for in the magazine.
Relevant images:- The images on the contents page often relate to
the most popular stories in the magazine as it grabs the readers attention and makes them want to read the story.

magazine so if you were to take away the front cover for example you would still be able to tell what magazine it is from, just from its layout and design.

House Style:- All pages follow the house style of
the magazine so if you were to take away the front cover for example you would still be able to tell what magazine it is from, just from its layout and design.
Columns :- This double page in split into
columns to make it easier for the reader to follow the text on the double page speared.
Page title :- The page title is the same font as the
contents page and on every page it is in the same place.
What I want to use on my magazine.
I would like to use the simple layout on my magazine as it is modern and will attract my target audience.
I would also like to use a simple colour scheme on my magazine.
I also want to use a popular artist on the front of my magazine.
