What happens at Emmanuel?• Established primarily to deal with the growing number of adults and children
infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. It functions with strategic partners and is funded through a Trust founded by Dr Mamisa Chabula-Nxiweni in 2004.
• Provide prevention, treatment, care and support to the community.
• To create an enabling environment for mitigating the health, psychological and socio-economic impact of HIV and AIDS on the family and community.

Focus of Port Elizabeth Living LabHealthcare systems:
- Biometrics for chronic conditions monitoring (310 home-based carers) Diseases: TB, diabetes, hypertension
• Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) monitoring and administering appropriate medication
• Specialised training system for community healthcare
• Monitoring of sputum tests and results for chronic conditions
Agriculture:
• Use of ICT to enable sustainable agriculture and village farming Tips and tricks of preparing soil, disease control, harvest
Entrepreneurs:
• Use of ICT to train small entrepreneurs in basic business activities (e.g. stock take, profit, etc)
• Use of ICT to assist small entrepreneurs to remain sustainable
