Researching Environments
After understanding the aesthetic properties of what I wanted to do, I needed to look into how to present my work. This led me to research and examine more contemporary practitioners who worked in the area of audio and visual installations. I came across designers such as Paul Sharits and his Shutter Interface and was immediately in-trigued by its piercing sensory dynamism. I want-
with abstraction but tested sensory perception. This led me to Carsten Nicolai and Ryoji Ikeda, the most recent designers. Their work was fasci-nating to me as it seemed to combine the ideas
-ogy; some thing that I myself started to under-stand. Both would appear to utilize space and en-vironment in their audio and visual performances, transforming an entire club or room with use of projectors. They had allowed their work to leave the screen and in a way surround the audience.

Installation
I decided to temporarily install my work on cam-pus. I used the built in microphone within my mac to pick up audio within the space. I docu-mented the installation and the videos are pre-sented on my blog. It was quite interesting to see the acoustics of the space visualized. Eve-ry time some body walked by or closed a door

Exploring Aural and Ocular Boundaries -NO BRIEF-Seth De Silva
This project required me to explore my personal practice in regards to current design practice. I had to take into consideration my works con-text as well as its audience and reception. For this brief I decided to work in an area of design I have constant interest in; audio and visual. Even though there was a brief set, I had to write my own brief to outline my area of interest and goals. The process of writing my own brief al-lowed me to see my work in a different manner, I had to really scrutinize and evaluate my ide-as constantly. To the right are some key points from my brief, the full brief is written on my blog.
