How Much Seed do I Inoculate?Volume of seed treated and additional information on inoculant strains can be located on NoduleN™ packaging, New Edge Microbials Inoculant Group Chart or at www.microbials.com.au

Groups Types Available for NoduleN™PeatAL: Lucerne, AM: Medic, B: White Clover, C: Sub Clover, F: Faba, Pea, Lentil, G: Lupin, H: Soybean, I: Mung Bean, J: Lablab, M: Siratro, N: Chickpea, P: Peanut, S: Serradella, Specials: Adzuki Bean, Biserrula, Desmanthus, Leucaena, Messina, Sulla

How to Apply NoduleN™ Peat:

For optimal performance sow treated seed within 6 hrs of inoculation and no later than 24 hrs after seed treatment, into a moist soil profile.

Slurry Inoculation Method

1. Select correct group type for the legume seed being sown.

2. Prepare a slurry by mixing the entire contents of this pack with cool, clean, non-chlorinated water.

3. Stir to ensure that inoculant is thoroughly dispersed.

4. Apply this slurry over the correct weight of seed and mix until all seeds are coated.

5. For mixing, run seed and inoculant slurry up an auger.

Liquid Injection Method

1. Select correct group type for the legume seed being sown.

2. Place NoduleN™ into a porous bag (ie calico bag, stocking) to help reduce blockages.

3. Suspend bag within the tank while filling with cool, clean, non-chlorinated water.

4. To help prevent blockages, ensure filters are 80 mesh or coarser.

5. Apply solution at 50 – 100L per hectare.

6. Ideally, the solution should be in contact with the seed at sowing.

Recommendations:

Optimum Performance

Sow treated seed within 6 hrs of inoculation and no later than 24 hrs after seed treatment, into moist soil conditions.

Application CompatibilityDo not tank mix with or apply directly after agricultural pesticides, fertilisers or trace elements such as zinc and copper.

Most seed treatments and pesticides are toxic to rhizobia. Check with NEM for compatibility.

Excessive use of starter Nitrogen or high levels of nitrate in the soil can delay or reduce nodulation.

Double Rate InoculationIncrease application rates improves results. A double rate of inoculant increases the introduced rhizobia population and ensures optimal nodulation and plant performance.

Most beneficial in the following conditions:

• Paddocks with no recent history of the legume to be planted.

• Paddocks experiencing long sustained dry periods, with sub optimal soil moisture content.

• Soil pH is below 5.2, as these soils will reduce nodulation and plant vigour.

• Soil with low organic matter, clay content and soil nitrate.

Storage Store between 4˚C–10˚C. Do not freeze. Store out of direct sunlight.

This is a stabilised live biological product and should be handled and stored accordingly, if not ensure it is stored in a dry, well ventilated place as cool as possible out of direct sunlight.

Do not store opened packs of inoculant. Do not use beyond the expiration date.
