About your deviceThe wireless device described in this guide is approved foruse on the GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 and WCDMA 900, 1900,and 2100 MHz networks. Contact your service provider formore information about networks.

Your device may have preinstalled bookmarks and links forthird-party internet sites and may allow you to accessthird-party sites. These are not affiliated with Nokia, andNokia does not endorse or assume liability for them. If youaccess such sites, take precautions for security or content.

Warning:To use any features in this device, other than the alarmclock, the device must be switched on. Do not switch thedevice on when wireless device use may cause interferenceor danger.

Network modeTo select the type of network to use, select Menu >Settings > Phone > Network mode. You cannot accessthis option during an active call.

Network servicesTo use the device you must have service from a wirelessservice provider. Some features are not available on allnetworks; other features may require that you makespecific arrangements with your service provider to usethem. Network services involve transmission of data. Checkwith your service provider for details about fees in yourhome network and when roaming on other networks. Your

service provider can explain what charges will apply. Somenetworks may have limitations that affect how you can usesome features of this device requiring network supportsuch as support for specific technologies like WAP 2.0protocols (HTTP and SSL) that run on TCP/IP protocols andlanguage-dependent characters.

Your service provider may have requested that certainfeatures be disabled or not activated in your device. If so,these features will not appear on your device menu. Yourdevice may also have customized items such as menunames, menu order, and icons.

Shared memoryThe following features in this device may share memory:multimedia messaging (MMS), e-mail application, instantmessaging. Use of one or more of these features mayreduce the memory available for the remaining features.If your device displays a message that the memory is full,delete some of the information stored in the sharedmemory.

Access codesThe security code helps to protect your device againstunauthorised use. The preset code is 12345. You can create



and change the code, and set the device to request thecode. Keep the code secret and in a safe place separatefrom your device. If you forget the code and your device islocked, your device will require service. Additional chargesmay apply, and all the personal data in your device may bedeleted. For more information, contact a Nokia Care pointor your device dealer.

The PIN code supplied with the SIM card protects the cardagainst unauthorised use. The PIN2 code supplied withsome SIM cards is required to access certain services. If youenter the PIN or PIN2 code incorrectly three times insuccession, you are asked for the PUK or PUK2 code. If youdo not have them, contact your service provider.

The module PIN is required to access the information in thesecurity module of your SIM card. The signing PIN may berequired for the digital signature. The barring password isrequired when using the call barring service.

To set how your device uses the access codes and securitysettings, select Menu > Settings > Security.

Software updates using your PCNokia Software Updater is a PC application that enables youto update your device software. To update your device



software, you need a compatible PC, broadband internetaccess, and a compatible USB data cable to connect yourdevice to the PC.

To get more information, to check the release notes for thelatest software versions, and to download the NokiaSoftware Updater application, see www.nokia-asia.com/softwareupdate or your local Nokia website.

To update the device software, do the following:

1 Download and install the Nokia Software Updaterapplication to your PC.

2 Connect your device to the PC using a USB data cable,and select PC Suite.

3 Open the Nokia Software Updater application. TheNokia Software Updater application guides you to backup your files, update the software, and restore yourfiles.

• Restart the device: switch off the device, and removethe battery. After about a minute, replace the battery,and switch on the device.

Install SIM cardThe SIM card and its contacts can be easily damaged byscratches or bending, so be careful when handling,inserting, or removing the card.

Insert a memory card

Use only compatible MicroSD cards approved by Nokia foruse with this device. Nokia uses approved industrystandards for memory cards, but some brands may not befully compatible with this device. Incompatible cards maydamage the card and the device and corrupt data storedon the card.

Your device supports microSD cards with a capacity of upto 16 GB. The size of a single file must not exceed 2 GB.

Insert a memory card

1 Remove the battery if inserted, and slide the memorycard holder to unlock.

2 Swing the card holder open.3 Insert the memory card into the card holder with the

Insert battery

1 Remove the back cover if in place, observe the batterycontacts, and insert the battery.

2 Replace the back cover.

Charge the batteryYour battery has been partially charged at the factory. Ifthe device indicates a low charge, do the following:

1 Connect the charger to a wall outlet.

2 Connect the charger to the device.3 When the device indicates a full charge, disconnect the

charger from the device, then from the wall outlet.

You can also charge the battery with a USB cable withpower from a computer.

1 Connect the USB cable to a USB port of a computer andto your device.

2 When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the USBcable.

You do not need to charge the battery for a specific lengthof time, and you can use the device while it is charging. Ifthe battery is completely discharged, it may take severalminutes before the charging indicator appears on thedisplay or before any calls can be made.

You can change the function of the left and right selectionkey. See "Shortcuts", p. 44.

Keypad lock

To prevent accidental keypresses, close the phone, andselect Lock within 5 seconds to lock the keypad.

To unlock the keypad, select Unlock > OK, or open thephone. If the security keyguard is on, enter the securitycode when requested.

To set the keypad to lock automatically after a preset timewhen the phone is in the standby mode, select Menu >Settings > Phone > Automatic keyguard > On.

To answer a call when the keypad is locked, press the callkey. When you end or reject the call, the keypad locksautomatically.

When the device or keypad is locked, calls may be possibleto the official emergency number programmed into yourdevice.

GSM antenna

Your device may have internal and external antennas.Avoid touching the antenna area unnecessarily while theantenna is transmitting or receiving. Contact withantennas affects the communication quality and maycause a higher power level during operation and mayreduce the battery life.

AccessoriesConnect a USB cableOpen the cover of the USB connector, and connect the USBcable to the device.

Headset

Warning:When you use the headset, your ability to hear outsidesounds may be affected. Do not use the headset where itcan endanger your safety.

When connecting any external device or any headset, otherthan those approved by Nokia for use with this device, tothe Nokia AV Connector, pay special attention to volumelevels.

Do not connect products that create an output signal asthis may cause damage to the device. Do not connect anyvoltage source to the Nokia AV Connector.

Calls

Make and answer a call

To make a call, enter the phone number, including thecountry and area code if necessary, and press the call key.To adjust the volume of the earpiece or headset during thephone call, scroll up or down.

To answer an incoming call, press the call key. To reject thecall without answering, press the end key.

LoudspeakerIf available, you may select Loudsp. or Handset to use theloudspeaker or the earpiece of the phone during a call.

Warning:Continuous exposure to high volume may damage yourhearing. Listen to music at a moderate level, and do nothold the device near your ear when the loudspeaker is inuse.

Dialling shortcuts

Assign a phone number to a number keySelect Menu > Contacts > Speed dials, scroll to a desirednumber (2-9), and select Assign. Enter the desired phonenumber, or select Search and a saved contact.

Activate speed diallingSelect Menu > Settings > Call > Speed dialling > On.

Make a call using speed diallingIn the standby mode, press and hold the desired numberkey.

Write text

Text modesTo enter text (for example, when writing messages) youcan use traditional or predictive text input.

When you write text, press and hold Options to switchbetween traditional text input, indicated by , andpredictive text input, indicated by . Not all languagesare supported by predictive text input.

The character cases are indicated by , , and .

To change the character case, press #. To change from theletter to number mode, indicated by , press and hold#, and select Number mode. To change from the numberto the letter mode, press and hold #.

To set the writing language, select Options > Writinglanguage.

Traditional text inputPress a number key, 2-9, repeatedly until the desiredcharacter appears. The available characters depend on theselected writing language.

If the next letter you want is located on the same key asthe present one, wait until the cursor appears, and enterthe letter.

To access the most common punctuation marks and specialcharacters, press 1 repeatedly. To access the list of specialcharacters, press *. To insert a space, press 0.

Predictive text inputPredictive text input is based on a built-in dictionary towhich you can also add new words.

1 Start writing a word, using the keys 2 to 9. Press eachkey only once for one letter.

2 To confirm a word, scroll right or add a space.

• If the word is not correct, press * repeatedly, andselect the word from the list.

• If the ? character is displayed after the word, theword you intended to write is not in the dictionary.To add the word to the dictionary, select Spell.Enter the word using traditional text input, andselect Save.

• To write compound words, enter the first part ofthe word, and scroll right to confirm it. Write thelast part of the word, and confirm the word.

Navigate the menus

The device functions are grouped into menus. Not all menufunctions or option items are described here.

In the home screen, select Menu and the desired menu andsubmenu.

Exit the current menu levelSelect Exit or Back.

Return to the home screenPress the end key.

Change the menu viewSelect Menu > Options > Main menu view.

Messaging

Create and receive messages, such as text and multimedia,with your device. The messaging services can only be usedif your network or service provider supports them.

Text and multimedia messagesYou can create a message and optionally attach, forexample, a picture. Your phone automatically changes atext message to a multimedia message when a file isattached.

Text messagesYour device supports text messages beyond the limit for asingle message. Longer messages are sent as two or moremessages. Your service provider may charge accordingly.Characters with accents, other marks, or some languageoptions take more space, and limit the number ofcharacters that can be sent in a single message.

The total number of characters left and the number ofmessages needed for sending are displayed.

To send messages, the correct message centre numbermust be stored in your device. Normally, this number is setby default through your SIM card.

To set the number manually, do the following:

1 Select Menu > Messaging > More > Msg.settings > Text messages > Message centre.

2 Enter the name and number supplied by your serviceprovider.

Multimedia messagesA multimedia message can contain text, pictures, andsound or video clips.

Only devices that have compatible features can receive anddisplay multimedia messages. The appearance of amessage may vary depending on the receiving device.

The wireless network may limit the size of MMS messages.If the inserted picture exceeds this limit, the device maymake it smaller so that it can be sent by MMS.

Important: Exercise caution when opening messages.Messages may contain malicious software or otherwise beharmful to your device or PC.

For availability and subscription to the multimediamessaging service (MMS), contact your service provider.

Create a message 1 Select Menu > Messaging > Create message.2 Write your message.

To insert a special character or a smiley, selectOptions > Insert symbol.To attach an object to the message, select Options >Insert object. The message type changesautomatically to multimedia message.

3 To add recipients, select Send to and a recipient.To enter a phone number or mail address manually,select Number or e-mail. Enter a phone number, orselect E-mail, and enter a mail address.

4 Select Send.

Multimedia messages are indicated with an icon at the topof the display.

Service providers may charge differently depending on themessage type. For details, contact your service provider.

Flash messagesFlash messages are text messages that are instantlydisplayed upon reception.

Select Menu > Messaging.

1 Select More > Other messages > Flash message.2 Write your message.3 Select Send to and a contact.

Nokia Xpress audio messages Create and send audio messages using MMS in a convenientway.

Select Menu > Messaging.

1 Select More > Other messages > Audio message.The voice recorder opens.

Nokia MailAccess your mail account with your device to read, write,and send mail. This mail application is different from theSMS mail function.

Before you can use mail, you must have an mail accountfrom an mail service provider. For availability and thecorrect settings, contact your mail service provider. Youmay receive the mail configuration settings as aconfiguration message.

Mail setup wizardThe mail setup wizard opens automatically if no mailsettings are defined in the device. To add an additionalmail account, select Menu > Messaging > More > E-mail and New account. Follow the instructions.

Write and send a mailYou may write your mail before connecting to the mailservice.

1 Select Menu > Messaging > More > E-mail andCreate e-mail.

2 Enter the recipient’s mail address, the subject, and themail message. To attach a file, select Options >Insert.

3 If more than one mail account is defined, select theaccount from which you want to send the mail.

4 Select Send.

Select Menu > Messaging > More > E-mail.

Download mail headersSelect your mail account.

Disconnect from your mail accountSelect Options > Disconnect. The connection to the mailaccount automatically ends after some time withoutactivity.

New mail notificationsYour device can automatically check your mail account atset intervals, and issue a notification when new mail isreceived.

Select Menu > Messaging > More > E-mail.

1 Select E-mail settings > Edit mailboxes.2 Select your mail account, Downloading sett., and the

following options:

Update interval — Set how often your device checksyour mail account for new mail.Automatic retrieval — Retrieve new mailautomatically from your mail account.

Instant messagingWith instant messaging (IM, network service) you can sendshort text messages to online users. You must subscribe toa service and register with the IM service you want to use.Check the availability of this service, pricing, andinstructions with your service provider. The menus mayvary depending on your IM provider.

To connect to the service, select Menu > Messaging >IMs and follow the instructions on the display.

Voice messagesThe voice mailbox is a network service to which you mayneed to subscribe. For more information, contact yourservice provider.

Contacts

Select Menu > Contacts.

You can save names and phone numbers in the devicememory or on the SIM card. In the device memory, you cansave contacts with numbers and text items. Names andnumbers saved on the SIM card are indicated with .

Add a contactSelect Add new.

Add details to a contactEnsure that the memory in use is either Phone or Phoneand SIM. Select Names, scroll to the name, and selectDetails > Options > Add detail.

Search for a contactSelect Names, and scroll through the list of contacts orenter the first letters of the name.

Copy a contact to another memorySelect Names, scroll to the contact, and select Options >More > Copy contact. On the SIM card, you can save onlyone phone number for each name.

Select where to save contacts, how contacts aredisplayed, and the memory consumption of contactsSelect More > Settings.

Send a business cardIn the contacts list, scroll to a contact, and selectOptions > More > Business card. You can send andreceive business cards from devices that support the vCardstandard.

To view the information on your calls, messages, data, andsynchronisation, select Menu > Log and the desired item.

Note: The actual invoice for calls and services from yourservice provider may vary, depending on network features,rounding off for billing, taxes, and so forth.

Settings

ProfilesWaiting for a call, but can’t let your device ring? There arevarious settings groups called profiles, which you cancustomise with ringing tones for different events andenvironments.

Select Menu > Settings > Profiles.

Select the desired profile and from the following:

Activate — Activate the profile.Personalise — Modify the profile settings.Timed — Set the profile to be active until a certain time.When the time set for the profile expires, the previousprofile that was not timed becomes active.

TonesYou can change the tone settings of the selected activeprofile.

Select Menu > Settings > Tones. You can find the samesettings in the Profiles menu.

DisplayTo view or adjust the wallpaper, font size, or other featuresrelated to the device display, select Menu > Settings >Display.

Date and timeSelect Menu > Settings > Date and time.

To set the date and time, select Date & time settings.

To set the formats for date and time, select Date & timeformat.

To set the phone to update the time and date automaticallyaccording to the current time zone, select Auto-update oftime (network service).

ShortcutsWith personal shortcuts, you can get quick access tofrequently used phone functions.

Select Menu > Settings > My shortcuts.

Select shortcut functions for the scroll keySelect Navigation key. Scroll to the desired direction, andselect Change or Assign and a function from the list.

Synchronisation and backupSelect Menu > Settings > Sync & backup.

Select from the following:Synchronisation — Synchronise your personal data withOvi. Before you start synchronising, you need to set up yourNokia account. Select Connect, and you are guidedthrough the process.Phone switch — Synchronise or copy selected databetween your device and another device.Create backup — Back up selected data.Restore backup — Restore data from a backup. To viewthe details of a backup file, select Options > Details.

ConnectivityYour phone has several features that allow you to connectto other devices to transmit and receive data.

Bluetooth wireless technologyBluetooth technology allows you to connect your device,using radio waves, to a compatible Bluetooth device within10 metres (32 feet).

This device is compliant with Bluetooth Specification 2.1 +EDR supporting the following profiles: Dial-up NetworkingProfile (DUN) FileTransfer Profile (FTP) General AccessProfile (GAP) Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP)Handsfree Profile (HFP) Headset Profile (HSP) Object PushProfile (OPP) Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) Serial PortProfile (SPP) Service Discovery Application Profile (SDAP)SIM Access Profile (SAP). To ensure interoperabilitybetween other devices supporting Bluetooth technology,use Nokia approved accessories for this model. Check withthe manufacturers of other devices to determine theircompatibility with this device.

Features using Bluetooth technology increase the demandon battery power and reduce the battery life.

When the wireless device is in the remote SIM mode, youcan only use a compatible connected accessory, such as acar kit, to make or receive calls.

Your wireless device will not make any calls, except to theemergency numbers programmed into your device, whilein this mode.

To make calls, you must first leave the remote SIM mode.If the device has been locked, enter the lock code to unlockit first.

Open a Bluetooth connection1 Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >

Bluetooth.2 Select My phone's name, and enter a name for your

device.3 To activate Bluetooth connectivity, select

Bluetooth > On. indicates that Bluetoothconnectivity is active.

4 To connect your device to an audio accessory, selectConn. to audio acc. and the accessory.

5 To pair your device with any Bluetooth device in range,select Paired devices > Add new device.

6 Scroll to a found device, and select Add.7 Enter a passcode (up to 16 characters) on your device,

and allow the connection on the other Bluetoothdevice.

Operating the device in hidden mode is a safer way to avoidmalicious software. Do not accept Bluetooth connectivityfrom sources you do not trust. Alternatively, switch off theBluetooth function. This does not affect other functions ofthe device.

Connect your PC to the internetYou can use Bluetooth technology to connect yourcompatible PC to the internet. Your device must be able toconnect to the internet (network service), and your PC mustsupport Bluetooth technology. After connecting to thenetwork access point (NAP) service of the device andpairing with your PC, your device automatically opens apacket data connection to the internet.

Packet dataGeneral packet radio service (GPRS) is a network servicethat allows mobile phones to send and receive data overan internet protocol (IP)-based network.

To define how to use the service, select Menu >Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet dataconn. and from the following options:When needed — to establish the packet data connectionwhen an application needs it. The connection is closedwhen the application is terminated.Always online — to automatically connect to a packetdata network when you switch the phone on

You can use your phone as a modem by connecting it to acompatible PC using Bluetooth technology. For details, seethe Nokia PC Suite documentation.

Call and phoneSelect Menu > Settings > Call.

Divert incoming callsSelect Call divert (network service). For details, contactyour service provider.

BatteryBattery and charger informationYour device is powered by arechargeable battery. The batteryintended for use with this device isBL-4CT. Nokia may make additionalbattery models available for this device.This device is intended for use whensupplied with power from the followingchargers: AC-3. The exact charger modelnumber may vary depending on the typeof plug. The plug variant is identified byone of the following: E, EB, X, AR, U, A, C,K, or UB.

The battery can be charged anddischarged hundreds of times, but it willeventually wear out. When the talk andstandby times are noticeably shorterthan normal, replace the battery. Useonly Nokia approved batteries, andrecharge your battery only with Nokiaapproved chargers designated for thisdevice.

If a battery is being used for the firsttime or if the battery has not been usedfor a prolonged period, it may benecessary to connect the charger, thendisconnect and reconnect it to begincharging the battery. If the battery iscompletely discharged, it may take

several minutes before the chargingindicator appears on the display orbefore any calls can be made.

Safe removal. Always switch the deviceoff and disconnect the charger beforeremoving the battery.

Proper charging. Unplug the chargerfrom the electrical plug and the devicewhen not in use. Do not leave a fullycharged battery connected to a charger,since overcharging may shorten itslifetime. If left unused, a fully chargedbattery will lose its charge over time.

Avoid extreme temperatures. Always tryto keep the battery between 15°C and25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extremetemperatures reduce the capacity andlifetime of the battery. A device with ahot or cold battery may not worktemporarily. Battery performance isparticularly limited in temperatureswell below freezing.

Do not short-circuit. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallicobject such as a coin, clip, or pen causesdirect connection of the positive (+) andnegative (-) terminals of the battery.(These look like metal strips on the

battery.) This might happen, forexample, when you carry a spare batteryin your pocket or purse. Short-circuitingthe terminals may damage the batteryor the connecting object.

You must return your Product or theaffected part (if it is not the entireProduct) to a Nokia care centre or Nokiadesignated service location before theexpiry of the Warranty Period.

When making a Limited Warranty claimyou have to present: a) the Product (oraffected part thereto), b) the legible andunmodified original proof of purchase,

which clearly indicates the name andaddress of the seller, the date and placeof purchase, the product type and theIMEI or other serial number.

This Limited Warranty extends only tothe original first end-user of the Productand is not assignable or transferable toany subsequent purchaser/end-user.

What is not covered?1. This Limited Warranty does not coveruser manuals or any third partysoftware, settings, content, data orlinks, whether included/downloaded inthe Product, whether included duringinstallment, assembly, shipping or atany other time in the delivery chain orotherwise and in any way acquired byyou. To the extent permitted byapplicable law(s), Nokia does notwarrant that any Nokia software willmeet your requirements, will work incombination with any hardware orsoftware applications provided by athird party, that the operation of thesoftware will be uninterrupted or errorfree or that any defects in the softwareare correctable or will be corrected.

2. This Limited Warranty does not covera) normal wear and tear (including,



without limitation, wear and tear ofcamera lenses, batteries or displays), b)transport costs, c) defects caused byrough handling (including, withoutlimitation, defects caused by sharpitems, by bending, compressing ordropping, etc.), d) defects or damagecaused by misuse of the Product,including use that is contrary to theinstructions provided by Nokia (e.g. asset out in the Product's user guide) and/or e) other acts beyond the reasonablecontrol of Nokia.

3. This Limited Warranty does not coverdefects or alleged defects caused by thefact that the Product was used with, orconnected to, a product, accessories,software and/or service notmanufactured, supplied or authorisedby Nokia or was used otherwise than forits intended use. Defects can be causedby viruses from your or from a thirdparty's unauthorised access to services,other accounts, computer systems ornetworks. This unauthorised access cantake place through hacking, password-mining or through a variety of othermeans.

4. This Limited Warranty does not coverdefects caused by the fact that the

battery has been short-circuited or bythe fact that the seals of the batteryenclosure or the cells are broken orshow evidence of tampering or by thefact that the battery has been used inequipment other than those for which ithas been specified.

5. This Limited Warranty does not applyif the Product has been opened,modified or repaired by anyone otherthan an authorised service centre, if it isrepaired using unauthorised spare partsor if the Product’s serial number, themobile accessory date code or the IMEInumber has been removed, erased,defaced, altered or are illegible in anyway and this shall be determined in thesole discretion of Nokia.

6. This Limited Warranty does not applyif the Product has been exposed tomoisture, to dampness or to extremethermal or environmental conditions orto rapid changes in such conditions, tocorrosion, to oxidation, to spillage offood or liquid or to influence fromchemical products.

Other important noticesA third party, independent operatorprovides the SIM card and cellular and/



or other network or system on which theProduct operates. Therefore, Nokia willnot accept responsibility under thiswarranty for the operation, availability,coverage, services or range of thecellular or other network or system.Before the Product can be repaired orreplaced, the operator may need tounlock any SIM-lock or other lock thatmay have been added to lock theproduct to a specific network oroperator. Accordingly, Nokia does notaccept responsibility for any delays inwarranty repairs or for the inability ofNokia to complete warranty repairs thatare caused by the operator's delay orfailure to unlock any SIM-lock or otherlock.

Please remember to make backupcopies or keep written records of allimportant content and data stored inyour Product, because content and datamay be lost during repair orreplacement of the Product. Nokia, in amanner consistent with the provisionsof the section entitled “Limitation ofNokia's Liability” below, to the extentpermitted by applicable law(s), shall notunder any circumstances be liable,either expressly or implied, for anydamages or losses of any kind

whatsoever resulting from loss of,damage to, or corruption of, content ordata during repair or replacement of theProduct.

All parts of the Product or otherequipment that Nokia has replaced shallbecome the property of Nokia. If thereturned Product is found not to becovered by the terms and conditions ofthe Limited Warranty, Nokia and itsauthorised service companies reservethe right to charge a handling fee. Whenrepairing or replacing the Product,Nokia may use products or parts that arenew, equivalent to new orreconditioned.

Your Product may contain countryspecific elements, including software. Ifthe Product has been re-exported fromits original destination country toanother country, the Product maycontain country specific elements thatare not considered to be a defect underthis Limited Warranty.

Limitation of Nokia's liabilityThis Limited Warranty is your sole andexclusive remedy against Nokia andNokia's sole and exclusive liability inrespect of defects in your Product.



However, this Limited Warranty shallneither exclude nor limit i) any of yourlegal (statutory) rights under theapplicable national laws or ii) any ofyour rights against the seller of theProduct.

This Limited Warranty replaces all otherNokia warranties and liabilities,whether oral, written, (non-mandatory)statutory, contractual, in tort orotherwise, including, withoutlimitation, and where permitted byapplicable law, any implied conditions,warranties or other terms as tosatisfactory quality or fitness forpurpose. To the extent permitted byapplicable law(s) Nokia does notassume any liability for loss of ordamage to or corruption of data, for anyloss of profit, loss of use of Products orfunctionality, loss of business, loss ofcontracts, loss of revenues or loss ofanticipated savings, increased costs orexpenses or for any indirect loss ordamage, consequential loss or damageor special loss or damage. To the extentpermitted by applicable law, Nokia’sliability shall be limited to the purchasevalue of the Product. The abovelimitations shall not apply to death or

personal injury resulting from Nokia’sproven negligence.

Statutory obligationsThis Limited Warranty must be readsubject to any statutory provisions thatimply warranties or conditions into thisLimited Warranty that cannot beexcluded, restricted or modified orcannot be excluded, restricted ormodified except to a limited extent. Ifsuch statutory provisions apply, to theextent to which Nokia is able to do so,its liability under those provisions willbe limited, at its option to, in the case ofgoods: the replacement of the goods orthe supply of equivalent goods, therepair of the goods, the payment of thecost of replacing the goods or ofacquiring equivalent goods, or thepayment of the cost of having the goodsrepaired; and in the case of services: thesupplying of the services again or thepayment of the cost of having theservices supplied again.

Note: Your Product is a sophisticatedelectronic device. Nokia stronglyencourages you to familiarise yourselfwith the user guide and instructionsprovided with and for the Product.Please also note that the Product might



contain high precision displays, cameralenses and other such parts, which couldbe scratched or otherwise damaged ifnot handled very carefully.
