 Data transfer.

If you have a device that supports data synchronisation, you can use Data transfer to synchronize your contactsand calendar with your Nokia 9300i. Supported devicesare currently Nokia 6820, Nokia 6230, Nokia 9300, andNokia 9500 Communicator. For more information on

Because device models are designed differently, there maybe differences in the way they handle data transfer. Forexample, your Nokia 9300i allows you to enter a greatdeal of contact information for each contact. Anotherdevice model may only allow a few details per contact. If you synchronize contact information between these two

devices, some of the data may be transferred to an

CommunicatorsSelect Desk→ Tools→ Data mover.

You can use Data mover to transfer data, such as contactsand settings, from your Nokia 9200 series Communicatorto your Nokia 9300i with infrared or a compatible memory

card.

Note: Before you use an existing compatiblememory card with your Nokia 9300i, you mustconvert the memory card with Data mover andreinstall the applications that you previouslyinstalled to the memory card. However, do not

The amount of required free memory depends on the datayou are transferring. If you have a compatible memorycard, insert it into your Nokia 9200 series Communicatoreven if you are going to use infrared as the means of transfer. Data mover can then use the memory card as a

temporary storage. Using a memory card also makes thetransfer process faster.

Do not use the Nokia 9300i when using Data mover . If possible, switch off the cover phone, and make sure thatthe battery is not discharged.

There may be additional steps, depending on the type of information you want to transfer, the method of transferyou want to use, the amount of free memory on yourprevious device or memory card, or the number of successful or unsuccessful transfers you have madepreviously. Read the instructions on the device screencarefully. The instructions guide you through the process

and include information not covered in this guide.
