Network Image wizard

• Easiest way created with Network Image Wizard

• Provides a set of pre-defined templates with defined parameters / attributes included in the network image

• A created image needs to be “attached” to a workspace in order to activate the image in the workspce

• This allows “batch-loading”. of data from a collection of logfiles.

• Batch-loading allows you to import a small number of important data parameters without needing to load all of each file.

• After batch load, attributes can be investigated in same manner as any attribute (e.g. plotted on maps)

Binning (2) Criterias

• Time• Data combined according to time criteria e.g. 1 second• Suitable as “default”

• Location• Data combined according to a spatial grid (definable grid size)• If data from different dates are to be combined

• Distance• Data combined according to a fixed spatial distance• Level out location device logging problems

• Message• Data combined according to number of message• Local trouble shooting / e.g. setting to value 0 means no

aggregation take place (i.e. raw data)

Stateforms (3)

• With this set of tools we can displays events in a for which is similiar to what we have in the NEMO ”Replay” Feature.

• Some of the element can be activated by right-clicking on the file lement in the workspace Explorer and then ”Display form”

• Othr elements can be taken from Menu: Tools

• ”Display Replay” allows to replay the session at the desired speed

Reports

• Actix is capable of generating Excel-based reports

• Reports need to be customized according to the technology and the signalling in use

• Reports provide advanced KPI analysys for System Performance Test

• Realiability of such reports is still a major issue......

Settings in detailDecode SettingsMinimum valid Signal Level (dBm)• Defines minimum level of valid RSSI sampleEc/Io Threshold for Delay (dB) • Used to calculate the threshold at which multipath components are counted in the delay

histograms for the Active, Candidate, Neighbor, and Remaining sets from the searcher finger data.

Scan Resolution (chips) • Defines how often measurements are reported, measured in chips.

Number of multipaths • Defines the number of multipaths that will be extracted and displayed in the Workspace

Explorer. Scanner Scan Resolution

• Defines how often scanner measurements are reported, measured in chips. Pilot Increment • Used to calculate the PN Offset (units of 64 chips) associated with the PN Phase (units of

chips) data reported in the CDMA air-interface messaging. PN Offset is calculated by dividing the PILOT_PN_PHASE by 64 and then rounding to the closest integer multiple of the PN increment entered. This feature forces all PN Offsets calculated to be part of a valid PN reuse plan.

Decode SettingsToo Many Neighbors

• Threshold Defines the maximum number of entries in the eighbour lists. When eighbour list entries in the air interface messaging exceed this threshold, an event (TooManyNeighbors) is displayed in the Workspace Explorer and a warning message is indicated in the *.warning output file.

Weak Ec/Io Pilot Threshold

• Defines when the best server pilot has dropped beneath a tolerable threshold and is considered weak. This displays an event (WeakPilotAlert) in the Workspace Explorer and in the warning file. Display Cell Identity as Hex Check the box to display the Cell Identity (CI) in hexadecimal (rather than decimal) in the Message Browser.

15 © NOKIA Actix User Trainning/Module1.PPT / 01.08.2004 / NN

Before starting using actix

• Pre-processing of dt files

• Backup of configuration files

• Attributes

Page 114: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

Pre-processing and backup of important data

Page 115: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

17 © NOKIA Actix User Trainning/Module1.PPT / 01.08.2004 / NN

Pre-processing of DT files

• Proprioity formats• TEMS proprority file format needs pre-exporting to text

file• Controlled with associated template file• Functionality of TEMS WCDMA

• Performance aspects• Files v. ram memory i.e. trade off that can limit

number of log files simultaneously open alt. size of log file

• Hence, different vendors, different log file size. • Scan file typically 10-400 Mb• Trace file – 10 – 50 Mb• Size dependent on measurement equipment number, equipment

settings and route length. • =========Worth consider e.g. route

length=========

Page 116: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

Backup of configuration files

• Session file • here actix settings are stored e.g. preferences, which threshold

used, maps, map layers, map zoom (xml format)• If any changes suddenly makes actix hang, this is useful to

restore functionality, i.e. that you can start actix again !!!• <PATH>\Analyzer\Bin\AppSettings.dat

• cell ref file• Network configuration data (file is overwritten when changed!!)• <PATH>\Analyzer\Bin\CellRefs\cellrefs.txt

• threshold files• <PATH>\Analyzer\Bin\FormatGroups\UserSettings\• Directory empty until user make changes

• license file• <PATH>\Analyzer\Bin\lsrvrc

Page 117: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

Attributes

• Attribute is actix concept of data items,

• An example is CPICH Ec/Io for best server

• An attribute can be • generic or• customised

• Attributes are stored as xml in either of these locations depending on origin

• <PATH>\Actix\Analyzer\Bin\Attributes

• <PATH>\Actix\Analyzer\Bin\CustomAttributes

Page 118: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

20 © NOKIA Actix User Trainning/Module1.PPT / 01.08.2004 / NN

Attributes

• Large amount of attributes, not all necessary at same time

• Utilisation of Favourites helps “filtering” attribute amount in workspace explorer

Page 119: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

Workspace

Page 120: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

22 © NOKIA Actix User Trainning/Module1.PPT / 01.08.2004 / NN

Workspace

• The workspace constitutes all data display windows within the Actix application window, together with the panel on the left called the Workspace Explorer.

• Default is empty, except workspace explorer

• Saving workspace ===• Window layout and representation• Loaded data files• Queries• reports

Page 121: Nokia UMTS Actix Training

23 © NOKIA Actix User Trainning/Module1.PPT / 01.08.2004 / NN

Workspace

• Workspace provide a way to utilise different window / panels setups for streamlining work, e.g. not to open samel log files /windows all the time

NOTE!

Hence saving workspace saves also defined/used queries/reports.

If an entity is opened with a different definition than in the used workspace there is a risk of corruption of the workspace.

Example, a workspace with queries/reports of vendor A is open. Running a report from vendor B will give strange results and overwrite/corrupt quereis

Page 122: Nokia UMTS Actix Training
