Read, Explore, Ask, Learn, Enjoy!
Nomad Press is passionate about sparking the interest of young readers in the fascinating world around them. Most of our books include science-minded investigations that use materials readily found in the home and classroom to expand learning into tactile moments that stick with kids long after the final page. Other Nomad books encourage kids to deconstruct exhausted stereotypes by offering compelling portraits of women working in scientific fields. Our books take kids far beyond the words on the page into a world of discovery and experiential education.
Using Nomad Press books in the classroom?
• Our books align with Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which allows educators to easily adapt Nomad books to their classroom needs.
• Nomad books help students reach the National Science Teachers’ Association (NSTA) benchmarks. These indicate the science content that students should have working familiarity of by certain grade levels.
• Nomad books align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which are based on the premise that science is best learned through experimentation and original discovery.
• Nomad books incorporate the 10 themes identified by the National Council for Social Studies (NCSS) as the framework educators should follow in designing curriculum.
• Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, plus art, are known as STEM or STEAM education. Almost all Nomad books consist of STEM material.
• Guided Reading Levels and Lexile measures for each book help teachers and parents match kids to the books that best fit their reading abilities and needs.
• Primary sources and essential questions in most books integrate independent study.
