Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate, Mumbai is a renowned institution that has stood tall for over six decades imparting academic excellence and encouraging high standards of extra-curricular performance through a holistic approach for its students. Our institution provides courses right from the 11th grade to PhD, all under one roof. Our strength lies in our adaptability and it is our constant effort to not only change with time, but also to stay ahead of times, which makes us a young and dynamic institution. Salvation through Knowledge is the Motto of the college & we, at KC College would like to live up to it. In today’s world one needs to adopt a professional approach to everything especially education- where class room teaching needs to be supported with creativity, innovation and an application- based learning method. The faculty & staff strive hard to make its students future ready & ready to take on any challenge the real world would have to offer. KC College provides excellent infrastructure which include a spacious well equipped Library, Science laboratories, Computer labs , Language lab and for the Media Department – exclusive state-of–the-art Studios for both Audio & Video recording & an editing table.. To keep up with global trends in Academics we have tie- ups with reputed International Universities. To name a few- Deakin University, Australia, Pennsylvania State University, USA & Jonkoping University, Sweden. The Department of Mass Media takes pride in being consistently acclaimed amongst the Top 10 colleges for mass communication in India by the India Today magazine. This year too, K.C. College is amongst the Top 10 colleges and is the only college in Mumbai. It has enabled the college to be at the forefront of the new media movement in teaching. After successfully initiating Bachelors of Mass Media (BMM) in 2000, the department introduced two-year Masters programme in Communication & Journalism (MACJ) & Entertainment, Media & Advertising (MA-EMA). Keeping in view the increasing demand of media professionals, the department has also offers a new course – BA in Film, Television and New Media Production(BAFTNMP) from the academic year 2016-17. All courses are affiliated & recognised by University of Mumbai.The department regularly conducts certificate courses in video production,photography&scriptwriting.Twofull-fledgedpostgraduatejoborientedcoursesin Sports Management and PR & Corporate Communication were also introduced recently and are successful.-Ms. Manjula Srinivas, Head, Department of Mass Media

DEPARTMENT OF MASS MEDIA

H.(S.)N.C. BOARDThe H.(S.)N.C. Board was founded in the year 1921 in an undivided India. When the partition sent the entire sub continent in a state of chaos, Late Vidyasagar Principal K. M. Kundnani and Late Barrister H. G. Advani, the founding fathers of the Board fought against the onslaught of time and established the debutant college - R. D. National College in Bandra in June, 1949 followed by Kishinchand Chellaram College in 1954. The next 50 years saw the Board pillaring 27 more institutions. Today, the H.(S.)N.C. Board under the guidance of Mr. Anil Harish, President – strides forward to be a centre of innovative teaching – learning process. This has led to the colleges under the H.(S).N.C. Board being recognized internationally as institutions which nurture individual development and instill values for students being responsible members of society. President of the H.(S).N.C., Board, Mr. Anil Harish, is ably supported by the Immediate Past President (H(S)NC Board) Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Past President Mr. Kishu Mansukhani, Rector and Secretary Prof. J. K. Bhambhani. Several international exchanges, visits, tie-ups and programmes have been initiated by the Board. Besides, modernization, consolidation and expansion of all its programmes are also being carried out which are of great importance in the life of a student.

K.C. COLLEGE Kishinchand Chellaram College was established in 1954 under the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board (H(S)NC Board). Re-accredited‘A grade’ by NAAC in Mumbai, KC College is one of thefinestcollegesinSouthMumbai,whichlaysgreatemphasisontheholisticdevelopment of its students. The college offers every possible course at undergraduate, graduate & post graduate level. Adjudged the Best College (Urban Area) by the University of Mumbai, theinstitutionhascreatedabenchmarkinthefieldofeducation.Thecollegehasbeen awarded ‘Star Scheme’ by DBT & ‘FIST Programme’ by DST.
