EKG technicians are in high demand in today’s healthcare market. By administering an EKG (electro-cardiogram) you will have an impact on the lives and health of people with suspected heart conditions. Working alongside a cardiologist, surgeon, or general practitioner, an EKG technician is responsible for correctly placing the leads to ensure an accurate test during exams and prior to surgery. Enjoy a rewarding career caring for people! It is anticipated thatemployment forCertifiedNurseAides will grow faster than average through 2016. CertifiedNurseAidesworkunderthesupervisionof a registered nurse or medical doctor to provide patients with basic care and services, such as a personal hygiene, grooming, vital signs, and bed making.CertifiedNurseAidescanbeemployedin hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facil-ities, private long-term care, mental health facili-ties, and other settings. Our 90-hour training pro-gram is approved by the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services (NJDHSS) and will prepare you to work in long-term care as a Certi-fiedNurseAide.Youwillspendfifty(50)hoursinthe classroom and forty (40) hours in a long-term care facility working with elder residents. At the completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the skills evaluation and written test to obtain yourCertifiedNurseAidelicensefromtheStateof New Jersey. InadditiontoexpandingtheOff-Sitelocations,theEWOS,incollaborationwithotheracademicde-partments, is planning to launch a Business Administration Weekend degree starting in Fall 2016. This degreewillbeanacceleratedandflexibleprogramforworkingandnon-workingstudentsthatwillbeable to complete the program in four or fewer semesters. Hudson County Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University announce an ex-pansion of their long-term successful partnership.

Hudson County Community College graduates will now be able to pursue the Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies (BAIS) through FDU’s Petrocelli College with specializations in Public Service Administration, Sports Administration, Communications, Political Science/Pre-Law, English, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and Leadership and Administration. Courses towards the bachelor’s degree will be available at HCCC as well as online, or even at one of several FDU instructional sites around the state.

By car to Journal SquareNew Jersey Turnpike to Exit 15 E. At toll booths, bear right on to ramp and follow sign which says “Truck Route 1& 9 North, Jersey City”. Proceed over two bridges toward the intersection of Route 440. Bear left past the second bridge, take 1&9 North, proceed to second right onto Sip Avenue. Continue on Sip Avenue up the hill to the Journal Square section of Jersey City. The administrative building is located between Bergen & Summit Avenues.
